The coming and going is so jarring. I don't know how the people here are just so blasé about these things. As if disappearing and reappearing people who should be fictional is just the way the world works. There is no world where it works like that! Except this one. It's not normal.

I'm starting a community theater group until this nonsense stops and I can go home. Sign ups are in the library and our first meeting is on the fifth. Anyone who likes can be involved, regardless of experience. And someone mentioned a book club? I can organize that, too. I'm very good with organization and planning and hosting.

There are at least twelve different shows airing that all showcase the lives of people who don't seem to do anything but drink and complain. And I realize that saying something to complain about that is hypocritical, but I am not on TV talking about it, so I've chosen not to care.

Good god, I can actually see myself becoming someone's cranky and least favorite eccentric uncle. This is what happens when there are no demons to keep you busy.

So. I don't know if any of you-- other than Cas-- already noticed her arrive, but there's someone I want you all to meet. My girlfriend, Jessica.

Jess, meet Jo, Ellen, Charlie, and Castiel. I met all of them after Stanford: Jo and Ellen helped me and Dean out after our dad died a few years back. Charlie helped us stop a leviathan takeover not long before I got here, and she's worked with a couple more times since then, in my future at home. And I met Cas when he brought my brother back from the dead, because he's... actually, you know, I think I'll let him surprise you with that one.

I'm still catching Jess up on everything that's happened, so don't overwhelm her with information, but we've covered the basics. So. Say hello?

Somehow I ended up rescuing at least seven animals last night. ~~Better than having to rescue people, I guess, but still.~~ Before I take them back to the shelter where they could just get let out again, anyone want them? Right now I'm counting two dogs, three cats, a rabbit, and a turtle. Who knows if anything else is hiding in my apartment.

...I might keep the turtle though. ~~Or the rabbit.~~
