The network is not really my preferred place to interact, even though I'm far better at typing than socializing in person. Having the computer interface between me and someone else does make it easier.

The cooler weather keeps reminding me of the camp in Alaska, and how I should really be there. This isn't a reprieve, not when there's so much left for me to do back home. I know it doesn't matter to Madison Valley, but I thought I should just lodge my protest one more time.

So...who has ideas where I can work if I have to bring a toddler talking tree with me? Because holy shit Groot so can't be left alone on his own for more than five minutes. I mean he almost burned the apartment building down by putting a bunch of paper and shit in the oven. I thought about trying to get a job at the gun shop but heh, Groot, guns. Same thing with construction. And pretty much anywhere I considered.

But if I don't get some sort of job I'll be living in a box soon.

This world is very different than mine.

When I was a young child, I never experienced Spring. It was not something my planet had, because of what we'd done to it. I suppose the astronomical season came and went, but plants couldn't grow, and so few animals were being born that you could hardly tell. And the warmth just made the pollution worse.

I vastly prefer it here.

I have been here seven weeks already, and I do not understand this place any more now than I did the day I arrived.

I waver between wanting to stay because it is a quiet, peaceful place and only uncertainly awaits at home, and wanting to go home because...because I feel I have much to do there. I don't know what that is, I don't even know who I am anymore. But Oz is home and this place is...not.

I think one of the most terrible things this place does is when it messes with our emotions.

Messing with our bodies is one thing. Making us feel things we don't feel is quite another. I'm very, very glad I wasn't affected by this last wave of strangeness. The awkwardness afterwards would be too much to bear.
