WHO: Adamus Sutekh and Sarissa (Match-up!) WHAT: A quiet meeting at the library WHEN: Thursday afternoon WHERE: The library WARNINGS: TBD STATUS: Closed/Ongoing/Match-up
Adamus was enjoying spending his afternoons in the library. It was cool in here, and quiet, and he was teaching himself all the parts of Earth history that his family and tutors hadn't found important to teach him. He'd learned about the military history. All the wars, the assassinations, the hatred, the fighting. That was what was important to the Mogadorians, and it had been drilled into him all his life.
But they'd never bothered to teach him about the good things that these people had done. The things they'd created. The people they'd saved. The love they'd had. The books, the art, the poetry, the music...all things that his people had considered useless.
Learning about it now made his view of humanity a lot more complete. They weren't monsters to be destroyed; they were people like anyone else, with strengths and weaknesses both.
He was sitting at a table, taking notes on a man named Gandhi. He was rather enraptured by the subject matter, and was adamantly wishing that he'd been taught this too, in addition to the stuff he'd been forced to learn. As he finished the book, he sat back with a sigh and shook his head. He thought he'd been free as a child, but he was discovering every day how very far that was from the truth.
