I need to take a couple of days off. Cassie hasn't been sleeping and last night she threw a tantrum when I tried to make her sleep in her own bed. We're both lacking sleep and I'm worried she'll make herself sick.

Want to know what's better than not sleeping because of vivid as fuck nightmares?

Having to deal with a toddler screaming and running into your room in the middle of the night because she's also getting vivid nightmares. Double points when she flat out refuses to sleep in her room the next evening.

Box stores are ruinous for small businesses. And by box stores, I mean Wal-Mart. You shouldn't recommend people go there; instead, you should encourage them to shop local.


Here's what shopping local can do:
1. Improve your family's health. Buying local foods has numerous health benefits to your family. Like if you buy local honey, it helps with allergies. I read that somewhere.
2. Improve the local economy, because it puts money back in the pockets of your neighbors. So they'll like you.
3. Know the people behind the product, so you can tell them how great that thing you bought was!
4. Keep your community unique because you won't find the same local places everywhere.
5. Better customer service. Probably. Unless you're a window shopper.
6. More personalized service. Yes, this.

So this place is officially strange, but cool too.

Still doing my best to wrap my head around everything; but after meeting and talking with so many awesome folks it's totally not as bad as I thought being stuck in a snow globe would be...beats getting stuck in Cincinnati at least.

Just hoping someone out there can maybe tell me where to go to get some new threads, and where I can buy a pair of roller blades and some street hockey gear?

On a not really unrelated note; if anyone here digs playing a pickup game of street hockey let me know.
