Private Letter to Lady Veronica

My dear lady,

I hope this finds you well and in pleasant spirits. I spent the pre-dawn in the fields and saw your face in the dawn. Would that I could show you what I see, and that we might watch the dawning with equal hearts.

A moment does not pass that I do not think of you. There are times when I long for war, or invasion so that distraction would take my thoughts. If not that, then I fear the only remedy would be your constant companionship, and I know I cannot ask that of you.

I find myself weak as a man as I am jealous of anyone in your presence that is not me. We both have our duties, but I would trade all my titles to be ever at your side.
