Where am I?

One moment I was on an important assignment with my group, one we had been working on for several months. Suddenly I found myself here, and there are several things off about this city. How is it possible that the year is 2006, and how can I be in L.A.?

The Rebels must be responsible for this...

It's supposed to be 1998. And according to the sources I've read, there are vampires around here. I'll have to adapt.

I loathe situations like this.

This is probably nothing, but there's a thief, Bela Talbot. I may have pissed her off quite a bit by stealing back something she took from the Winchesters.

Apparently now she wants to return the favor and steal something from me. I really doubt she'd ever be able to get past the security of the Hyperion, but she seems confident so I thought I'd give you all the heads up.

ETA: and apparently she's considering taking a hit out on me. I'm not exactly worried, but in the interest of no secrets, I thought I'd let you know.

That Samara woman sent me a videotape. I thought it was an art project, but apparently it was supposed to kill me. I'm not sure how a tape could kill me, and, well, I'm still here, but be careful of getting a videotape from Samara, or anyone else you don't know. I'd hate to think it would work on someone else.

I think this explains that "prank" call I got just after I watched it.

For the record, I didn't do anything to her to make her mad; I only watched the tape to be nice.

I just got here; the name's Kyle Hyde. Since I appear to be stuck, and my old job ended a couple of decades ago, I guess I'm looking for work.

I've been a traveling salesman, and I've done... informal investigation work. I could probably hack being a security guard, too, if anyone's interested.
