Welcome all, to the beginings of Operation Birthday Office.

As some of you already know, Nathan's birthday is coming up this Monday. I would have called for an in-person gathering, but all of us wandering off at the same time, no matter how clandestinely, this close to his birthday will have him generating suspicions before we even get things rolling.

I'm aware this is extremely short notice, but with all the particularly time-consuming madness that's been occurring the past few weeks, none of us have had the pause needed to mull over the normal things.

Obviously we'll all be getting him our own seperate gifts; but what Nathan needs more than and ontop of the usual birthday fanfare is an office. As the live-in lawyer, we need him to be able to find the door out of his room for all the piles of paperwork in the event we forget to pay our parking tickets or finally crack and engage in a duel over the last box of Mac and Cheese in the pantry and need him to look into the legal grounds of modern-day honorable stabbings. With only the weekend to work this through, it's not going to be anything singularly fancy; just a room to keep the lawyerly trappings, as well as paperwork and a place for getting it all done. The room designated is #3 on the second floor.

This is not a one or two person job; and one will get you twenty that this will mean much more coming from all of us. I've drawn up a pre-emptive list of jobs, but you're all welcome to reply to me for changes and ideas, as well as help eachother out in any way possible:

Dr. Perry Cox will be dropping by within the hour to see if he can make some diagnoses and give us a better idea of how this can be treated(Gabriel, if you're not ill, could you make sure he's able to get in?). Despite some confusion as to the legitimacy of the claim, Peter was taken by Jareth, the 'Goblin King'. Threatening Jareth won't do anyone a damned bit of good and might only make things more difficult for Peter. That's the last thing he needs right now.

The best person for the job of getting him back is currently doing so, which means for now we can only wait. It could be a few minutes or it could be longer - there's no way of knowing for certain.

The best thing to do is conduct business as usual, not make a public fuss about this (beyond what is out there at this point) and not let the other side take advantage of this. Everyone knows their part and we're a team, we can do that, right?

There are a bunch of dead goblin bodies in mine and Pete's room, among other signs of a big fight. If you could corral the boys and pass them to Charlie to keep them out of the room, I'd appreciate it.

If you can get it for me, I need video trained on where Heidi and Jareth are, which is across the street diagonally. Audio too if you can manage it, route it all to the front desk computer. If not, that's fine, but I need options. I gotta know what's going on down there and if she needs back-up.

I get that you're not happy with how thing have been, but I need you to be in charge of tactical, 'fight the good fight' side of things. It's not in my realm of experience and it's never gonna be. You're the one I trust most and I know Pete would feel the same.

Anyone want to go to the beach tomorrow? Cathy suggested it and I took her up on the offer. Meeting her at the south end of the Pier in Santa Monica at 10 a.m. if anyone wants to go. Which everyone should, because we all live in L.A. and need more sunshine.

Hey everyone! Sorry to bother, but just wanted to let ya'll know that the California State Bar Exams are tomorrow.

I'm just pointing this out, because me and Nathan are gonna be studying in the dining hall, and we'd real appreciate if ya'll just keep the interruptions to a minimum. I'll make it up to ya'll tomorrow, and make a nice, big Tex-Mex kinda breakfast, sound good?

Maya wants to meet me, wants to make sure that I'm not trying to trick her. She wants other people around, though, in case that it is a trick. I invited her to the Hyperion. Do some of you think that you could come to the lobby to wait with me? I mean, I don't want her to show up, and it just be me down here. That might end up scaring her even more.

This inspired me, because she has a point. We all have positive truths, all we need to do is focus on them instead of all the ugly things.

So here's mine:

Play fighting in Wal-Mart with plastic lightsabers with a very well-known Jedi is something that is on my top five list of best days ever. That's not the secret. The secret is that I wish he was a member of my family because he is a wonderful person and I want to keep him forever.

I miss my little brother, but I'm happy here and I want to stay as long as those I've come to know are here too. If I never went home again, I'd be happier here than I ever was there. So, in a way, I want to keep a lot of you forever.

I've fallen in love with an extraordinary man. He is that because of the kind of person he is, first and foremost.
