Dunwich: A Creepypasta Panfandom Game

It's so surreal that the school year will be coming to an end in only a few weeks, so I've been trying to get the classroom/studio as tidy as I can. However, as I was cleaning out the studio at home, I found something a bit more surprising. That being a DVD case with my fiance's face on it. I haven't watched the DVD yet, for reasons, but I'm wondering what other surprises that this place has.

Whatever that maze was, can we all agree there seemed to be a consciousness to it? I've been trying to piece together what could possibly be happening, or what it could mean, and all I can conclude is that something constructed it.

Which has further implications that I believe we all might already be aware of.

I was going to suggest someone get their magic and/or science together to check out the weird fog in the elevator because that turning up again seems important.

But we don't have an elevator in the building. Right? Someone tell me I'm not losing my mind. There's only two floors, there's not even anywhere an elevator would fit.

Not sure whose things were in the washer on our floor, but that coin operated washer and dryer in the basement was pretty handy. Why didn't anyone mention this before? Saved me one hell of a trip into town.

Someone I knew said there's usually a causality between people with strength showing up and the number of threats that happen because of that. It's not an at-fault situation so much as that's what happens when you get a bunch of heightened or super skilled people, the rest of the world tries to follow. The Avengers, from my world, were there to help stop those who intended to harm people.

I've been thinking about the charity I plan to run, and along with it, I want us to be prepared for the potential eventuality that things place is going to throw at us. Lobster/scorpions, vampires, the locals, — who knows what else this place has in store for us. I want to be prepared.

I know the subject of powers and skill sets can be a touchy one so if you're not comfortable telling anyone — or even me — that's completely fine. If you want to share it privately, I'm good at keeping secrets. I'd like to know who we have here in case of various scenarios.

I got a bit derailed on going to the lake, but Giga-lobsters can be found on the beach. Spotted one tonight. There didn't seem to be any others in the area so it might have just wandered over looking for food or might have moved there to avoid competition, but it was in the shallows so salt water doesn't seem to bother it. I also managed to get a scan with one of my drones. I don't know enough about animal anatomy to fully analyse it, but I can tell you it's definitely not a lobster, or a crayfish for that matter. It's got to be some kind of sea scorpion, I think. Can anyone at the university see if the library there has information on eurypterids? It'll be in the paleontology section. Best thing we could get is some kind of anatomical information we can compare to.

I will say there's something inside the tail that isn't there in a lobster and when I google scorpion anatomy it looks uncomfortably similar. I can't say without a sample for Redwing to analyse but it could be venomous, which means you definitely should not be eating the tail willy-nilly. If it is it's probably just luck that no one's gotten sick yet.

tl;dr: Sea scorpions, not lobsters. Possibly venomous. Do not get stung, do not get pincered, do not eat the tail.

Hello, I've been here for a while now, and though I've kept an eye on the network I haven't publically posted until now.

For those who don't know me, my name is Maria Hill, for clarity, it would look like that I'm from the same world as Natasha Romanoff, Clint Barton and Kate Bishop.

Is this working? Can you read this? I think I'm learning how to post on this by myself- I can view messages and respond.

Now, is it usual for strangers to offer young ladies jobs upon first meeting them? I discovered the lovely little clothing shop that had a huge array and quite a charming ginger cat at the counter. They seemed to think that I was there as their new seamstress of some sort. I didn't quite know how to say no, and it seems like it would be easy enough- they'll pay me for my work, and it seems like a fair wage. And I got to take home a few new dresses and shoes! I'll be mending items before they go out for sale and helping to mind the shop along with Jimmy- the cat. It seems..strange, but honestly, everything here seems very strange to me right now.

I'm about to test my phasing to see if that has a difference when I go through. See if phasing out of space will get me through the line undetected. Works on a lot of things, so I guess I'll find out.

But I thought everyone should know, the locals can leave the town. I've watched a bunch of people coming and going. People on foot, people in vehicles, people on bikes. I think it might just be us stuck here.

How does that make any sense? That's not- how do I teach an entire course in half a semester? With spring break in the next, what, month? I know I've experienced some weird stuff in my life recently, but I haven't been handed a job like this before.

Hey, I know there's a lot of chatter happening on the network right now. Natasha is gathering up a group of people to try and organize things. Let her know if you find anyone injured or have any medical expertise.

In the meantime, I think I've got a line on a place we can stay. Apparently there's an old boarding house that's just been remodeled into a studio apartment complex, completely vacant. The owners think I'm the new manager. I say we pull a fast one, I fill out paperwork for everyone and we worry about how we're going to balance the books at a later date. Just to get everyone off the street.

Seems a lot of people have found this network. That's good. We can communicate from across the town. Thanks to Carol for that. Firstly, I'm not the Natasha from the Infinite Agency, but I'm probably a lot like her. I'm sorry to those of you who knew me there.

There's a lot of us around here, so I'm thinking we should create a command post where everyone can converge and we can figure out what to do from there. There's something weird about this town, outside of our unexplained arrival, and I don't want anyone getting stuck across the town line as a ghost. The ghost line?

I'm also hearing something about some kind of sickness going around. So-n-so's little cousin's best friend's got "angel fever." Whatever that means. None of us will have been exposed if this is a whole new dimension than the other we came from. Probably best to keep it that way.

I'm in the park across from town hall. Center of town. Look for the red head in a black stealth suit. Hair in braids. Let's try and help one another reunite and figure out what to do next.

I'm Hange, by the way. This place is certainly less exciting than the last. And way more populated. There aren't even any walls!

ARRIVAL

The thick, ghastly haze of the mist, once practically opaque to the naked eye, fades and opens up to a nostalgic homegrown New England town. A friendly gazebo, freshly painted white sits on a neatly mown lawn at the center of the town square. Vehicles stop at the redlight while locals cross the street, birds chirp in the trees, and a school bus stops to pick up a few children in oversized backpacks. Pedestrians walk by you without a second glance. Did they not see you suddenly appearing out of nowhere? How could they not have noticed that all encompassing fog? And why doesn’t your obviously otherworldly attire catch their attention? This appears to be a small, close knit community. And it’s clear you’re not from around these parts.

But these are simply the first of many mysteries you’re about to discover.

The further you investigate your new surroundings, the more ominous this seemingly quaint and colloquial town becomes. There’s something dark beneath its pleasant guise. You can’t shake the chill at the back of your neck and the sense that someone—or something—is watching you. Then there’s the odd graffiti on the alleyway walls and the way the locals talk about certain locations. And while the mist is gone, there are places in town that make you reminisce about the mist. Places that feel supernaturally thin. Thin enough to let in whispers from the other side. Or maybe even screams.

And don’t worry if you hear laughter or the jingling chimes of carnival coming from the rain gutters in the street. That’s just your imagination. There’s nothing down there.

Nothing that floats.
