What does one do to celebrate their date of birth in this place? I hear the upcoming holiday is the country's birth date. But mine was yesterday. I didn't think to address it because celebrating a birthday wasn't the most important thing in my home. But I think there may be some of my friends who would wish to celebrate. I debated to say something or not, but ultimately, I think it is good to acknowledge it.

Thank you, thank you, thank you so much to Maysilee for giving me a job at Sweet Confectionery and Ice Cream Parlour! I know I already told you this but I promise to work really hard, never be late, and do everything you ask of me :) I'm really excited, and can't wait for my first shift!

I have begun wondering what to do with my time here. I am no longer heda here, though I am teaching some of you. Murphy is gone.

I received notice that I was accepted into the university here just after Clarke disappeared and it was something that she had mentioned to me. Something that I should consider. What does one do with a degree? I have researched on the Google website, but there are so many ideas.

Apart from commanding and leading, I suppose I am best at diplomacy. I managed twelve clans and kept them from warring until the Sky People showed up. Even then, we worked to keep the peace.

Is there something like that which translates to modern day? To this world? It is what I enjoyed and was good at. I'm not sure if I'd do it forever, but I like it.

UMMMM omg I need help? I guess I'm moving downtown tomorrow?

I've kind of realized that after this whole Todash thing, that I need to try to learn to fight or at least try to defend myself. Even if that whole Todash space thing was...weird.

On a different note, I never realized how nice the sunrise and sunsets are. I may have to watch them more often.

I found a photo that you were in with me. So, I guess we had a thing in the past. Just wanted to bring this to your attention, so you weren't blindsided.

July 4th is a week from today so I figure it's about time I laid out some of the details I've been organising. The town has its own parade that's starting from 10am at the elementary school and finishing about noon at the town hall if anyone wants to watch that and I've managed to book the event space at Dunwich River Park from 2pm onwards as well as a sound system, but we could do with some folding tables for the food. I've talked to a few people about specific things and I'll be bringing some of the same food I made for my cookout back in April, for those of you who were here then. Everyone else, if you can bring a dish, please do, but it's not mandatory or anything. You probably will want a blanket or something to sit on though and let me know if you've got any sports equipment sitting around. At the very least we can get some Ultimate Frisbee going (me and Steve would be on opposite teams, obviously), but baseball's pretty easy to set up and I know some people would be into that too.

Don't worry if you're not American. It's a holiday for the locals because it's Independence Day, but for us this is just a good excuse for a party. There also won't be any fireworks if you're worried about the explosion sounds - even if some of us didn't really, really hate them, they're illegal in Massachusetts anyway. It's just gonna be music, food, and good times.

Henri and I were on what I thought was a pretty damn good date and she went off to the bathroom and never came back. I saw some mist in that general direction, and now I've gotten the error on the network about her leaving.

I’m not sure how many of you are aware, but James is unconscious here at the hospital. Last night, he informed me that he was headed to Todash Tavern. I’m assuming his injuries are a result of what happened there. If anyone has the opportunity to bring me some coffee, it would be appreciated. I'm not leaving until he wakes up.

Would anybody be so kind as to stop by my room and pick up my teddy bear Ferdinand to bring to me at the hospital? He should be tucked up in my bed in my room, and if you ask at the front desk and show my post, somebody-

They brought me a catalogue of wheelchairs to look through for once I'm released. I didn't realize there are so many colors for them now!

I know it's pretty early to be thinking about this but I'm debating cakes, and with how many people are here if we want everyone to get a slice that's going to be... a really, really big sheet cake. Which would have the advantage of being able to fit a hundred candles, but it's also pretty centre-of-attention and plus sheet cake is just a bit boring. I feel like it would be nicer if several people just made normal cakes in whatever flavours they wanted and we had them scattered around all the other food and then there was one slightly bigger for the main cake, because jokes aside I don't actually want to put a huge spotlight on him since he hasn't been here that long to get familiar with everyone around. Does anyone think they might be down for contributing?

I know we've all been wondering big time about what the deal is with this Bad Moon Festival. I wondered so big time that my lovely assistant and I spent the last five days wading our way through the mess that is Dunwich's historical records. We found nothing relevant at the library or Carbunkle House, but you know what they say - you always find what you're looking for in the last place you look. In this case, that place was the Townhall.

We found a book about the festival. While it actually says veeeeeery little about the festival that you don't already know if you listened to the NPR interview with Preacher Buttery Voice, there are slightly more informative notes in the margins. I do mean slightly - they're vague, old, faded, and, in some cases, hardly legible at all. Some have even been completely erased or scribbled out. I barely followed and I think the only reason I did follow is because I wrote them myself. At a guess (and it is just a guess), I must have done it this way because I was worried someone else might understand. I don't know when I might have done it but it does appear to have been a long time ago, a longer time ago, and then maybe a couple other even longer times ago. It's hard to say.

As uncharacteristically vague as I made my instructions, it is my understanding that we (the mistakes) should gather at both the festival and Todash Tavern on the night of the Bad Moon Festival. At the tavern, we're supposed to play Bad Moon Rising by Creedance Clearwater Revival. It's a fun song, I checked it out, but other than the "Bad Moon" part, I have no insight as to why it must be that particular song or even what's supposed to happen after that. I know where we need to go and what we need to do and I ask that you please trust me. I don't remember making these notes but I recognize the way I was dancing around the bush and I know that it's very important we do what's suggested.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask, but I've already told you what precious little I know.

EDIT: In addition to this stunningly well-received account of my discovery, I'd like to present a very old picture of Haymitch that we found hanging on the wall of Todash Tavern to further support the idea that maybe we've been here before.

I know this is last minute, but I am in some dire need of help assistance. Tomorrow is my sister's birthday. And I'm sure plenty of you have at least met or heard of Alexis, so I want to do something nice for her. Especially since it's her thirtieth birthday, I figured that I could take her out for dinner, but I don't know if that's good enough.

I do feel like she needs deserves a party, even if it's a small one. I could try to get a cake and arrange a theme, but I just want her to feel like this is significant. Because knowing Alexis, this is a big deal to her...
