So you're having some issues with ghosts (non-Mistake variety).

Firstly, talking to them is a good start, but you've probably tried that. (If you haven't, please do.) If you have and they still won't leave you alone, then hopefully there's enough of us here who've got different ways of doing things with ghosts to help you out?

Can I get a list of volunteers for helping to show people how to work with, set boundaries, etc with ghosts?

Once we've got that if Mobius or Natasha will let us use outside Pickman or a room in MIST to showcase these things, that'd be great.

Also because this is Dunwich, and Dunwich is rude, half of these things might not work here. Or might go extremely wrong.

I've noticed a few strange posts on the network and I'd appreciate if people checked in about whatever they see going on? It could be just a fluke, but if there's a pattern, it'd probably be a good idea for MIST to have a heads up.

You can message me privately if that's more comfortable. I'm sure it's nothing, it just seems like there's something every month, you know? No one wants to see the hedge maze come back.

So I was thinking about those chips you were talking about, and I still don't think it's a good idea and all, but what if there was a way someone could activate it themselves? Or if a specific set of physical circumstances set it off? Like heart rate and all the things that FRIDAY can tell you about your body.

What the fuck am I doing I need a distraction. Math and crossword puzzles aren't doing it.

I know battery life and all that is a big thing right now. That some of you are using the type of phone that doesn't have a headphone jack -- so if you've got your music on there, you're using wireless headphones or the power connecting port for -- you know how it works, don't let me over explain here.

Anyway, you're welcome, I've been working on it and at least the common areas of MIST have wireless charging capabilities now so don't unplug if you don't have to. Just show up here and maybe have a little silent rave with a neighbor.

ATTENTION: EVERYONE WITH HEADACHES

So we didn't say anything before because we weren't sure, but now that someone is FLOATING, this is almost exactly like something that happened back in our own town. There was this bad guy — thing, whatever — that we called Vecna. Vecna's like if you put the Creature from the Black Lagoon with a bunch of living vines that are a hive mind together with really strong telepathy and telekinesis.

He lives in the Upside Down, which is like a really fucked up version of our world except it's all dead and weird shit floats in the air. And the only living things are demogorgons, demodogs, and demobats. And Vecna.

ANYWAY, so back home, he wanted to rip open gates from the Upside Down to our world, so he picked four people to torment with headaches, nightmares, hallucinations, and then finally... floating in the air.... and a pretty gnarly death. Those left holes between our dimensions and when he got the fourth one, it made a big giant X and ripped open the town.

BUT THERE IS A WAY to stop him. You need a song, and you need to listen to it all the time. Find a song that speaks to you, that just grabs a whole of you and doesn't let go and listen to it. On repeat. The song keeps you grounded literally.

This time and space thing is pretty wild, huh? It was just a theory back in my home dimension — no one had ever figured it out — but it's kind of cool seeing it in real life. I just wish I had some way to measure difference between the universes.

I know Spock had a body of scientific research on the ghost line and other phenomena around Dunwich. I'd be interested in helping whoever continues that research. My expertise is more on the magical end of things so, I think it might be good to team up.

ARRIVAL

The thick, ghastly haze of the mist, once practically opaque to the naked eye, fades and opens up to a nostalgic homegrown New England town. A friendly gazebo, freshly painted white sits on a neatly mown lawn at the center of the town square. Vehicles stop at the redlight while locals cross the street, birds chirp in the trees, and a school bus stops to pick up a few children in oversized backpacks. Pedestrians walk by you without a second glance. Did they not see you suddenly appearing out of nowhere? How could they not have noticed that all encompassing fog? And why doesn’t your obviously otherworldly attire catch their attention? This appears to be a small, close knit community. And it’s clear you’re not from around these parts.

But these are simply the first of many mysteries you’re about to discover.

The further you investigate your new surroundings, the more ominous this seemingly quaint and colloquial town becomes. There’s something dark beneath its pleasant guise. You can’t shake the chill at the back of your neck and the sense that someone—or something—is watching you. Then there’s the odd graffiti on the alleyway walls and the way the locals talk about certain locations. And while the mist is gone, there are places in town that make you reminisce about the mist. Places that feel supernaturally thin. Thin enough to let in whispers from the other side. Or maybe even screams.

And don’t worry if you hear laughter or the jingling chimes of carnival coming from the rain gutters in the street. That’s just your imagination. There’s nothing down there.

Nothing that floats.
