This Thursday I'm throwing a party at my place. The theme is disco. If you don't know what that is, look it up. You have the internet and no excuse. Anyone who shows up needs to get their Saturday Night Fever on or they'll be denied entry.

There will be an open bar. Probably more. If that's not your scene, no judgement here.

Anyone who enjoys throwing parties can meet me at my place tomorrow to help plan.

By my count we've lost a dozen in the last week. To the fog, at least, not to anything potentially more permanent. The network errors seem to be fairly close in time to the actual disappearance, though. Do we have enough equipment to build sensors that could show us the exact environmental conditions in place when it happens?

After the other day, I kind of realized we might need to up our game on preparing people for this. I know a few of us are storing away a stockpile here or there. Maybe it's time we pool our resources and start teaching people how to fight back.

Grand opening of a new gun range at Open Carrie this weekend. It's nothing fancy, but anyone who wants to learn to aim or just get some practice in or advice is welcome to drop by this weekend.

I should probably apologize for being a reckless asshole, too. But, I did help people get to safety, and I took down two ghosts. So, reckless asshole or not, it helped.

Earlier this week, you all received a message that Melina Vostokoff's account was deleted. After searching for her, checking the network that Carol created, and some magical spells, it appear Melina is no longer here. We can only assume that she disappeared the way we all arrive. Until we see that happen with someone, we only have that assumption.

I've been debating whether to ask you about this as you expressed the sentiment that it was not your story to tell. As a group though, mutants have had our own experiences with Wanda that were... extremely disastrous and traumatic. Ultimately I'm not interested in the details of what this one might have done, but I do want to ask: is she stable?

I've put in an offer on a building. By the end of the week, I'll be working on getting this place set up as a local community center for us all who came by way of the mist. I was thinking of calling it Massachusetts Institute of Strange Things so we can just call it MIST for sure. I know, it's dorky, but I kind of like it, and it'll confuse the locals. They don't seem to like strange.

Once all the paperwork's done and signed, I'll need some help getting it ready for us. There's a walk-in freezer, walk-in fridge and storage for canned goods and clothing so we can have items in stock for new people — or just people who need help — and the front will have computers, books, and space for support groups and gathering areas. The kitchen's been cleaned out of ovens and stove tops, so cooking there's not going to be ideal.

Magic users: is there a way to have a permanent glamor on the windows so that locals can't see what's actually going on inside it?

Support group. It's still happening. I had it worked out with the school to use a room there, everything was good and I was going to announce it and then yesterday they told me we were no longer welcome, no explanation given. Working out details so that we have a place to go that you can walk to from Pickman.

UPDATE: Loki has generously allowed us to use his church, so we'll have a room there, Wednesdays at 5:30. Starting next week.

I was going to suggest someone get their magic and/or science together to check out the weird fog in the elevator because that turning up again seems important.

But we don't have an elevator in the building. Right? Someone tell me I'm not losing my mind. There's only two floors, there's not even anywhere an elevator would fit.

This is where you should tell me if you want to participate in the potluck portion of our get-together on the eighteenth. We just want to ensure we're not all bringing the same thing. A girl can only eat so many meatballs. You can bring anything, but ideally I'd like to try things I've never had before. If you think there is a dish unique to where you're from and the ingredients are available here, do that.

RICHIE The mist brought us a whole mountain of people from Panem. There's something I want to tell you before you hear it elsewhere but it's kind of hard to talk about. It feels like a conversation we should have face to face but it's also the kind of conversation I don't want to have literally at all soooo I don't know. Eugh. So I left the house this morning with the goal of trying to track down any possible leads into the whereabouts of my missing sister, and somehow ended up becoming the owner of a detective agency.

This town really is strange. Still if anyone is looking for a job; and has experience with investigation work, forensics, or served with law enforcement/military, feel free to swing by or drop me a line. Tracked N' Solved Detective Agency isn't very large, but there's enough room and desks for a few folks to claim.

If I had a nickle for every time I got pulled into a town by a mysterious force, I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice, right?

ARRIVAL

The thick, ghastly haze of the mist, once practically opaque to the naked eye, fades and opens up to a nostalgic homegrown New England town. A friendly gazebo, freshly painted white sits on a neatly mown lawn at the center of the town square. Vehicles stop at the redlight while locals cross the street, birds chirp in the trees, and a school bus stops to pick up a few children in oversized backpacks. Pedestrians walk by you without a second glance. Did they not see you suddenly appearing out of nowhere? How could they not have noticed that all encompassing fog? And why doesn’t your obviously otherworldly attire catch their attention? This appears to be a small, close knit community. And it’s clear you’re not from around these parts.

But these are simply the first of many mysteries you’re about to discover.

The further you investigate your new surroundings, the more ominous this seemingly quaint and colloquial town becomes. There’s something dark beneath its pleasant guise. You can’t shake the chill at the back of your neck and the sense that someone—or something—is watching you. Then there’s the odd graffiti on the alleyway walls and the way the locals talk about certain locations. And while the mist is gone, there are places in town that make you reminisce about the mist. Places that feel supernaturally thin. Thin enough to let in whispers from the other side. Or maybe even screams.

And don’t worry if you hear laughter or the jingling chimes of carnival coming from the rain gutters in the street. That’s just your imagination. There’s nothing down there.
