Dunwich: A Creepypasta Panfandom Game

It has been a week since we tried to find them, my roommate went missing last saturday and my dear friend Lyra, as well as the other children, are still missing.
How can we fix this?

I'm going to have to break out the hi viz saddle blankets with so many hunting seasons finally opening next weekend, and pay much closer attention to where people are planning to take the more sensitive horses. Which isn't to say I'm not looking forward to it. It's been positively ages since I've had fresh-caught grouse or turkey. I'll try to bring in a few extra so I can on-sell the spare for anyone else who prefers to know where their meat is coming from as well.

Half of y'all think too loud, the other half doesn't think at all. I prefer the latter. It's quieter.

Also, we all have to walk the halls, that doesn't mean we should have to smell you, deodorant is your friend.

Do we really have to go to school this many days of the week? I didn't need any of this junk at home! I can read and write and do my sums and these classes are BORING I'd rather be outside or in my room listening to music or something.

I think I will be spending as much time as possible in my unicorn form. The human world here has been...less than inviting.

I was never able to thank you for your help during...everything that happened last month. It was painful in many ways, but knowing I have you as a true friend has been an honest comfort.

I also wondered...have you been feeling an extra burst of energy or pull? While I always want to remain in my true form, there is a surge I feel within me. I don't know if it is something happening in Dunwich or just something as a result of my time being in Vecna's grip.

What feels like ages ago I promised Sabrina I'd track down a karaoke machine and get a night going at Todash. And then Dunwich Dunwiched so here were are in September.

All that aside, Todash will be hosting karaoke tomorrow night!

What's karaoke you ask? Well, if you've ever wanted to get slightly tipsy to drunk and belt your heart out in front of a bunch of other strangers of varying sobriety to such emotional hits as "My Heart will Go On" and "Total Eclipse of the Heart", or maybe you prefer something more upbeat like "I Wanna Dance with Somebody", or you want to channel your inner boy band dreams and hit up some "I Want it That Way" (or girl band, "Wannabe" is a very valid choice here), karaoke is for you.

So come on down, have some drinks (a shot on the house if you go sing), show off your vocal chops and cheer your fellow Mistakes on.

Gentle ribbing is the name of the game but please do not be an asshole.

There's trouble in the air someone's already dead, dear ones. I'm sure it's nothing we can't face or deal with. But there is strength in numbers and if you don't want to stay alone while this is all going on, my home is open to you. I can't promise a cooked breakfast every morning but I always keep a fresh pot of coffee around.

ATTENTION: EVERYONE WITH HEADACHES

So we didn't say anything before because we weren't sure, but now that someone is FLOATING, this is almost exactly like something that happened back in our own town. There was this bad guy — thing, whatever — that we called Vecna. Vecna's like if you put the Creature from the Black Lagoon with a bunch of living vines that are a hive mind together with really strong telepathy and telekinesis.

He lives in the Upside Down, which is like a really fucked up version of our world except it's all dead and weird shit floats in the air. And the only living things are demogorgons, demodogs, and demobats. And Vecna.

ANYWAY, so back home, he wanted to rip open gates from the Upside Down to our world, so he picked four people to torment with headaches, nightmares, hallucinations, and then finally... floating in the air.... and a pretty gnarly death. Those left holes between our dimensions and when he got the fourth one, it made a big giant X and ripped open the town.

BUT THERE IS A WAY to stop him. You need a song, and you need to listen to it all the time. Find a song that speaks to you, that just grabs a whole of you and doesn't let go and listen to it. On repeat. The song keeps you grounded literally.


Um, yeah, so I know other people from my dimension have experiences and stuff, but I wanted to get this part out before too many people started randomly floating in the air. And dying

I have seen mention of headaches being common, but I am finding that the last few nights I have had very very vivid dreams that are distressing. If it was just once I wouldn't think much of it, I have dreams when in a human body. But I did spend a night in my true form and the nightmares were...worse than ever.

Has anyone else experienced this?

I have thankfully been able to spend time as a unicorn again, but I have been experiencing these headaches...I don't suppose you still have the lavender and such that you used for that bath I had the first night? It was very much a comfort and I think it might help me.

Good king, I was curious as to whether you have experienced strange nightmares recently? I do not really dream as a unicorn, but now I have and it's very strange. You're one of the few who might understand how I feel.

We were able to figure out a way to help Amalthea be a unicorn for a few hours a day. I'm not sure if the exact same idea will work for you re: sneezing into a mortal, but we might be able to do it.

Do you have anything from your world here?

Does anyone know if the Sindewinder Park is known to be haunted? I haven't seen many true ghosts, just conjured ones, but the sounds were very similar.

I have been told that Lyra needs a guide. I do not understand this need as I have seen her be very capable in her survival but I have come to the conclusion that it must be a human need.

ARRIVAL

The thick, ghastly haze of the mist, once practically opaque to the naked eye, fades and opens up to a nostalgic homegrown New England town. A friendly gazebo, freshly painted white sits on a neatly mown lawn at the center of the town square. Vehicles stop at the redlight while locals cross the street, birds chirp in the trees, and a school bus stops to pick up a few children in oversized backpacks. Pedestrians walk by you without a second glance. Did they not see you suddenly appearing out of nowhere? How could they not have noticed that all encompassing fog? And why doesn’t your obviously otherworldly attire catch their attention? This appears to be a small, close knit community. And it’s clear you’re not from around these parts.

But these are simply the first of many mysteries you’re about to discover.

The further you investigate your new surroundings, the more ominous this seemingly quaint and colloquial town becomes. There’s something dark beneath its pleasant guise. You can’t shake the chill at the back of your neck and the sense that someone—or something—is watching you. Then there’s the odd graffiti on the alleyway walls and the way the locals talk about certain locations. And while the mist is gone, there are places in town that make you reminisce about the mist. Places that feel supernaturally thin. Thin enough to let in whispers from the other side. Or maybe even screams.

And don’t worry if you hear laughter or the jingling chimes of carnival coming from the rain gutters in the street. That’s just your imagination. There’s nothing down there.

Nothing that floats.
