Soooo if one were to open a new third place/social space, what would you like to see? I know I've seen requests for karaoke and more dancing. Drag shows? Small concerts? Classes of some kind?

In the interest of future safety, I have installed an extra program to the Ghost Line Map application. This program will allow you to link your device to a small group of 'friends' or guardians, giving them the ability to track your location in the event of an emergency. If you install this function, it will also add a button to your home screen so you can activate and deactivate the alert and tracking without logging in.

Note: Pressing the button will automatically send out an alert to the people you've added to your device. Try not to push it by accident.

To install this function:
1) Go to the settings of your Ghost Line application.
2) Click on the Alert/Tracking option.
3) Add your emergency contacts.
4) Click 'Update'.

I have added premade groups such as MIST Security and Dunwich PD for those of you who do not know who to list as your emergency contact. Likewise, use of this function is not obligatory.

If you have any questions or concerns, ask them below.

LIV MOORE:
Dr. Moore,

I have recently taken over the office and projects previously initiated by Mr. Stark. I understand that he was in the process of building you an MRI machine. I have researched the medical technology of this world and determined it possible to complete the work he started. If there are any other specifications you would like me to add that may not have been in his initial diagrams, please let me know. Otherwise I will update you on my progress as necessary.

LLAP,
Spock

Voice Post, tw: cat-bus-monster, profanity, car crash

[info]germhater
[info]dunwichgame
(backdated to after witnessing Jaskier being taken, in a loud and panicky voice)

The fucked-up-cat-monster got Jaskier!  Fucking put him in his goddamn spine!   The last time I saw it, it was near Pickman, headed south!  We have to find him!  We have to help him and the rest of them!  There were so many!   Too damn many!

(a few moments later and slightly calmer)

I know you're all trying.  I just..aw, fuck.  It was fucked up. This is all fucked up.

Crashing a car into the cat-thing doesn't fucking stop it. I didn't learn anything else.

I'm fine.

Here's what we know so far.

There is a cat-like creature the size of a damn bus who's apparently picking up people and keeping them. Locating spells seem to work, John was able to track the cat around town but it is moving and it is huge.

I've also seen some say they have spoken to this thing? Can anyone tell me what it wants? Has there been any other encounters with the thing that can give us some more information?

Time to start putting our heads together to figure out how to get those who are missing back out of this collecting cat thing safely.

My name is La'an Noonien-Singh. I arrived here four days ago.

Approximately twenty-four hours ago I was tracking one of your monsters that came through the fog in an attempt to head it off from crossing the ghost line and threatening larger population centers. Only when the creature got to the boundary it was unable to cross.

I then decided to patrol the ghost line. Twice I witnessed creatures unable to cross the boundary.

Having read previous encounters of monsters regarding the ghost line, I have a working theory. Please tell me if this aligns with your experiences or if any of my facts are wrong.

ONE: monsters that enter Dunwich within the parameters the ghost line are unable to get out.

TWO: people that cross the ghost line and have an out-of-body experience have reported releasing a monster from their incorporeal form. monsters that enter this world outside the ghost line are able to cross its boundary at will.

THREE: monsters don't appear to pass out or have out of body experiences when they come in contact with the ghost line, regardless on which side of the force field they arrived on.

CONCLUSION: the force field, or ghost line as you call it, wasn't designed to trap us, it was designed to trap the creatures that come from the mist. Maybe creatures from the mist in particular have a certain frequency or quality that the ghost line is specifically tuned to.

That wouldn't explain why we're here or have been pulled in alongside the monsters.

I will let you know if I come across any other observations about the creatures that may be useful to our efforts.

A large ... cat like creature came out of the fog in Sidewinder. Roughly the size of a tank if I recall wha. Another creature came out of the fog and tried to go after it but the thing stepped on it and then lumbered onward.

I'm not sure if its a threat or not, but there are definite creatures coming out of the fog now.

It paid no interest to me.

WELCOME
Your new life starts here.
CODE BY

ARRIVAL

The thick, ghastly haze of the mist, once practically opaque to the naked eye, fades and opens up to a nostalgic homegrown New England town. A friendly gazebo, freshly painted white sits on a neatly mown lawn at the center of the town square. Vehicles stop at the redlight while locals cross the street, birds chirp in the trees, and a school bus stops to pick up a few children in oversized backpacks. Pedestrians walk by you without a second glance. Did they not see you suddenly appearing out of nowhere? How could they not have noticed that all encompassing fog? And why doesn’t your obviously otherworldly attire catch their attention? This appears to be a small, close knit community. And it’s clear you’re not from around these parts.

But these are simply the first of many mysteries you’re about to discover.

The further you investigate your new surroundings, the more ominous this seemingly quaint and colloquial town becomes. There’s something dark beneath its pleasant guise. You can’t shake the chill at the back of your neck and the sense that someone—or something—is watching you. Then there’s the odd graffiti on the alleyway walls and the way the locals talk about certain locations. And while the mist is gone, there are places in town that make you reminisce about the mist. Places that feel supernaturally thin. Thin enough to let in whispers from the other side. Or maybe even screams.

And don’t worry if you hear laughter or the jingling chimes of carnival coming from the rain gutters in the street. That’s just your imagination. There’s nothing down there.

Nothing that floats.
