Dunwich: A Creepypasta Panfandom Game

Don't mean to alarm anyone, but we seem to have lost power at Todash? I can cook by candlelight just fine and the grills run on gas. But our tills do not. Neither do our fridges.

Can we get someone to come take a look at things? The local electrician seems slow to stir themself.

Is it really.... could it be..... FRIDAY? That's it, party 2.0. Costumes optional. 8pm, 13 Mt Pleasant St. I'll restock the soda and juice after work and set up some couch co-op party games if anyone wants to try them. Anyone can come, but like, I'm 18, so you decide how weird you'd feel about it. I just don't want my first Friday in a month to be boring as fuck.

Gaming in 2023 is playing a cozy city builder on a literal supercomputer because publishers think optimisation is an optional extra. I'm so glad I was too busy to play games the first time around when I had, you know, the kind of computer a sixteen year old has.

Anyway. Halloween tonight. I've got decorations up and candy for trick or treaters, I just have to decide whether to wear the Barbie costume everyone forgot I had at the party or my supersuit in case I need to shrink or something.

Oh, fuck this. That was going to be a great party.

So. A couple weeks ago I found this weird carving at the Historical Society, followed by this weird symbol. A couple of us have been looking for where else it might have popped up in Dunwich and we've found it on a book by a former resident in town but I swear I've seen it elsewhere and can't remember.



It's related to some...IDK if its an old god or what really, but its something that used to be worshipped in Dunwich a long time ago and comes from the ocean. I think. The book's kind of vague on that and the chapter about this particular thing is missing because of course it is. So I'm just finding little references to it here and there in the rest of them.

But if you see it anywhere can you let me know?*

All that aside, Todash will be hosting karaoke tomorrow night!

What's karaoke you ask? Well, if you've ever wanted to get slightly tipsy to drunk and belt your heart out in front of a bunch of other strangers of varying sobriety to such emotional hits as "My Heart will Go On" and "Total Eclipse of the Heart", or maybe you prefer something more upbeat like "I Wanna Dance with Somebody", or you want to channel your inner boy band dreams and hit up some "I Want it That Way" (or girl band, "Wannabe" is a very valid choice here), karaoke is for you.

So come on down, have some drinks (a shot on the house if you go sing), show off your vocal chops and cheer your fellow Mistakes on.

Sabrina mentioned that with Isabel leaving, there's no one to really help people watching over those in trances. So, I'm going to offer. If you need food or coffee, or just a break so you can scream into a pillow -- let me know. I'm still learning to navigate the town, but I've got a phone with GPS so it won't be that difficult.

I can't do much, but I can do that.

I know battery life and all that is a big thing right now. That some of you are using the type of phone that doesn't have a headphone jack -- so if you've got your music on there, you're using wireless headphones or the power connecting port for -- you know how it works, don't let me over explain here.

Anyway, you're welcome, I've been working on it and at least the common areas of MIST have wireless charging capabilities now so don't unplug if you don't have to. Just show up here and maybe have a little silent rave with a neighbor.

Phone battery life is about 12 hours, give or take a few. I found an mp3 player that does about eighty for thirty dollars. We don't have them in stock at RadioShack but Amazon Prime does next day delivery.

The hardware all works at least, I still have to get everything working together properly. There's 40 nodes in that case and another twenty in a case sitting on the floor with room to expand it. (Please no one tell my boss to look into how much use I've made of the store's wholesale ordering discount.) And since all great custom builds need a name, in honour of Beowulf and great contributions to arts and culture I've dubbed it Skibidi.
