Dunwich: A Creepypasta Panfandom Game

We didn't have modern technology where I'm originally from and we didn't celebrate Thanksgiving either.  We had both in Storybrooke though! I must admit I've become very used to them and maybe didn't appreciate them as I should have. 

We had big gatherings that were open to all those in town at my Granny's diner with her holiday recipes.    I hope we will be able to get together with each other here in Dunwich.   Is there still a chance for a Thanksgiving potluck?

I used to also make a list of what I was thankful for.  Losing power here and getting it back helped me with that this year.  It's a long list - Good people that come together in literal dark times, fresh food, hot food, cold ice cream, lights being on, heat, hot showers and being able to charge devices.  I hope I'll be able to add having the sun back to that list soon.

I missed running through the snow in the dark at night. I just don't know what to do with all the extra energy now. I used to run much further than this and usually find some wolves or something else that like to run in groups and there's not space for it here. Running in circles around the park isn't the same when you can go for hours and hours so now when I stop I'm still all.... buzzy. Like I can feel my whole body and I want to run to the Pacific coast but since I can't I don't know what to do with it instead.

I can fight the local vampires if anyone needs me to. Or. Maybe walk dogs?

So far it hasn't seemed any less dark in the middle of the day than in the early hours of the night. That means we are probably experiencing astronomical night, when the sun is more than eighteen degrees below the horizon, for the full day. Normally only places above 84 degrees latitude go through astronomical polar night. There are no permanent settlements that close to either of the poles and it doesn't begin for another week at the North Pole. I've only spent time in polar twilight regions before.

I wanted to say thanks to everyone who helped out yesterday. I doubt that was how any of us thought Halloween would go.

This kind of shit happened in my world, and it took us to stop It. This creepy fuck who decided that kids were more delicious or something. The adults didn't even notice it, didn't do anything to stop it. Over and over again, more missing kids posters put over the previous ones, and everyone forgot about looking for the one who just disappeared the week before.

Fuck the adults. I say we go out and find them ourselves.

How good is everyone's sense of smell? Do you think you could tell if someone had been in an area recently without having followed their scent there to start with? I can move quickly but it would still take me too long to search the entire town boundaries by myself. It would be better if we could split it up.

You know, I never thought I'd say this, but I had an excellent first day of school! In all my life, being the new girl was never very fun, and then going to a new school was always stressful. The only good thing that came of the last time I went to a new school was meeting Lesley. Never really made a huge group of friends or anything. We Mistakes might not be very...typical...but I'm glad I got to start with a lot of friendly faces.

A few months ago, I asked for people with potential for emergency responders. I think it's time to not only update that, but put some people in charge of aspects of it.

• SEARCH AND RESCUE: There's a very specific set of skills needed for search and rescue. Physical training is an absolute necessity. FEMA has training courses to develop your Search and Rescue skills. I won't be taking anyone in this position who does not have a certification in first aid or CPR. Especially give that Sam Wilson does training for this on Sundays.
  
• FIGHTING: I don't care how you fight, just know that if we get a call for fighting, we're going to need all the people we can get.
  
• MAGIC: Whether this is magical fighting or just spells to dissuade people, clarify.
  
• MEDICAL/HEALING: What it says on the tin. Liv Moore is in charge of Medical here at Mist, so I'm going to put her in charge of this.

Does anyone actually go to the drop ins on Tuesdays? What do they do there? I already told them I'm not going to school and all of my work experience is illegal. I'm not sure what I should do with my time since we can't leave.

We've had another death. It's Rose Nylund. Sometime last night or early this morning she was killed by the demodog, which we know is protecting Eddie, so I'm pretty certain he's at the Rochree Mill.

We are going to search for him AND NOT FUCKING TOUCH HIM until Vecna is OUT of him. We're going to find him and figure out a safe way to get Vecna out of him, no jumping the gun we have a few things we can do that might work and not harm Eddie. Psychic attacks have worked the best in the past.

Vecna talked to me.

I want to share, I don't know how much of it is known and how much isn't, but I don't want anyone rushing in by themselves or doing anything stupid.

He's connected to Todash the way he used to be connected to the Upside Down. He wanted me to come with him, to learn to control the Todash Space with him. I don't know if he's there but that's his goal.

There's stuff about Eddie that I don't fully understand but he's fighting Vecna off in there. We have to help him, I think he's getting tired. He needs help. I think he's the only thing stopping Vecna right now.

Vecna wants to open Todash Space into Dunwich. The church helped him get Eddie and there's something else, something underneath everything. I think maybe he's scared of it.

I don't know if I'm remembering everything.

We have been unable to locate him by scent so far. He smells of death, and so does the rest of the town. We will keep trying.

I know people are freaking out now with friends going into trances and things and Eddie missing. And the songs are good and hopefully helping.

Will said that heat might work on him. That it did against monsters related to Vecna in his world and that those monsters were connected by a hive. To Vecna. Probab

I think Vecna is in Eddie. Eddie’s mortal. He wouldn’t have been able to knock me out or take away my memories. But Vecna. From what Will and others have said it sounds like he could have and I wasn’t exp.

I don’t know who’s usually taking charge during these kinds of insanities? But I think finding Eddie is key. Finding. Not hurting.

ARRIVAL

The thick, ghastly haze of the mist, once practically opaque to the naked eye, fades and opens up to a nostalgic homegrown New England town. A friendly gazebo, freshly painted white sits on a neatly mown lawn at the center of the town square. Vehicles stop at the redlight while locals cross the street, birds chirp in the trees, and a school bus stops to pick up a few children in oversized backpacks. Pedestrians walk by you without a second glance. Did they not see you suddenly appearing out of nowhere? How could they not have noticed that all encompassing fog? And why doesn’t your obviously otherworldly attire catch their attention? This appears to be a small, close knit community. And it’s clear you’re not from around these parts.

But these are simply the first of many mysteries you’re about to discover.

The further you investigate your new surroundings, the more ominous this seemingly quaint and colloquial town becomes. There’s something dark beneath its pleasant guise. You can’t shake the chill at the back of your neck and the sense that someone—or something—is watching you. Then there’s the odd graffiti on the alleyway walls and the way the locals talk about certain locations. And while the mist is gone, there are places in town that make you reminisce about the mist. Places that feel supernaturally thin. Thin enough to let in whispers from the other side. Or maybe even screams.

And don’t worry if you hear laughter or the jingling chimes of carnival coming from the rain gutters in the street. That’s just your imagination. There’s nothing down there.

Nothing that floats.
