I know this is low stakes compared with everything else going on, unless it isn't? It was a really large brown bear. Like really ... big.

Tower of Pizza wanted me to share with others that they have lobstrosity pizzas available this month. They especially recommend the crispy thin-crust one topped with lobstrosity meat, cream sauce, caramelised shallots and ricotta.

There's also a 'kiss-before' special, which is a two-for-one special on garlic bread. You don't actually have to kiss anyone to get it. We can also make any pizza heart-shaped.

Upon superficial perusal of the network, I am overjoyed at being proven right once again!—That humanity is, at its core, a trite, unsurprising, and mundane species with very little capacity for nuance and innovation. Why, look at how you've all sequestered yourselves in the humdrum of monotonous living, foolishly trying to feed your starving souls by chewing on stodgy remnants of bromidic interactions and abstruse small talk. I've seen wonders in my life, but I never thought to see the future, such as it is. So much information in the palm of your hand.

How do you cope?

So Ronnie told me someone was interested in reviving Corroded Coffin with us.

That got me thinking if I held tryouts would anyone want to audition for a metal band?

Ronnie's on drums. I play guitar and sing. Minimum we need a bass, but another guitar and vocals would be good. Not that we can play outside of Dunwich, but we're pretty much used to playing in the same small town for about five drunks in a dive bar on a good night?

Ability to dodge beer bottles a plus.

Must be comfortable practicing in a literal dungeon.

In the interest of future safety, I have installed an extra program to the Ghost Line Map application. This program will allow you to link your device to a small group of 'friends' or guardians, giving them the ability to track your location in the event of an emergency. If you install this function, it will also add a button to your home screen so you can activate and deactivate the alert and tracking without logging in.

Note: Pressing the button will automatically send out an alert to the people you've added to your device. Try not to push it by accident.

To install this function:
1) Go to the settings of your Ghost Line application.
2) Click on the Alert/Tracking option.
3) Add your emergency contacts.
4) Click 'Update'.

I have added premade groups such as MIST Security and Dunwich PD for those of you who do not know who to list as your emergency contact. Likewise, use of this function is not obligatory.

Miss Romanoff,

In light of recent events with the ghost line and mist monsters, I have determined that I can be of most use to the community by working full-time at MIST. While my Starfleet experience has trained me in numerous areas, I believe my work in the sciences will be the most beneficial to ensuring both the future safety of the Mistakes and furthering to advance our understanding of why and how we are here. If you require references I can ask Lieutenant Noonien-Singh to vouch for my abilities.

On a related note, I have determined a method for adding a ‘location finder’ to the ghost line map. If a user has the finder turned on then we will be able to track them in the event of an emergency. It would, of course, be voluntary. Each individual user would have to activate the function on their phones. Logically, it would only be accurate if they have their phone on their person. If you approve of this function I will add it to the application programming.

Now that the mist has cleared up, I plan to test transmitters and receivers around the edge of the ghost line with the hope that they will be able to track the changes in the perimeter and automatically update the adjusted geographical perimeter into the app.

I have asked Miss Romanoff to consider me for a full-time position at MIST so I can better help everyone here. is that a Would you find that satisfactory? If you do not wish to work closely together, I can request a position in another department.

I am glad the plan against The Collector was successful and that you are safe and well.

[ When answered he will immediately start talking, he sounds slightly out of breath like he's on the move while talking, because he is. ]

First off, I'm good. All good.

[ A pause as he gets a moment to duck behind a tree and hide. ]

Just a little heads up that I'm sharing my location. Sort of, kind of, being run down by the creepy cat bus.

Here's what we know so far.

There is a cat-like creature the size of a damn bus who's apparently picking up people and keeping them. Locating spells seem to work, John was able to track the cat around town but it is moving and it is huge.

I've also seen some say they have spoken to this thing? Can anyone tell me what it wants? Has there been any other encounters with the thing that can give us some more information?

Time to start putting our heads together to figure out how to get those who are missing back out of this collecting cat thing safely.

There are large spider [...] creatures eating the magic wards protecting my house. I think they're attracted to magic.

I'm just going to gather a few things and calmly walk to Pickman. Just a reminder, I'm immortal, pretty much indestructible, I can make the walk without putting anyone else at risk.

Requesting status confirmation.

We've had enough sightings and kidnappings going around that I'm formally activating the MIST Emergency Protocols. I know we still have to work, and still want to go out, so I'm asking those in Search and Rescue, Fighting, and Magic divisions to offer themselves here on this post if people need someone to go with them to school, work, the bar, your shopping. I realize it's not as glamorous as full on fighting these things, but you never know when something is going to come back.

If you run into anything out there, please give us as detailed of a description — visuals, smells, sounds, anything — as you can give. Locations. If you managed to injure it. If you managed to kill it, bring it back to MIST would be ideal so we can study it.

I have finished mapping the new perimeter of the ghost line and updated the coordinates into the application created by the previous Spock. You should all have access to the new boundaries. If your app does not appear to be showing the updated borders, I suggest turning your device off and then back on.

On an unrelated note, could someone explain the ‘Angel Fever’ to me? I have seen mention of it, but did not wish to intrude on the conversations of those personally affected. Thank you.

EDDIE MUNSON:

I hope you don’t mind, but I have taken the liberty of repairing your vehicle using surplus parts obtained from a local junkyard. I reinforced the panel on the passenger door where the lobstrosity ripped a hole in it. As an extra precaution I did the same to the driver’s side as well. The metal struck me as egregiously thin for a craft that may see battle. Likewise I updated some of the rusted areas of your suspension and replaced the brake pads no doubt worn by your reckless driving. I had other ideas for improvement, particularly if you intend to use this vehicle for future monster hunting or mounting rescues. If you’re interested we can discuss how to go about applying them.

NATASHA ROMANOFF:

JAMES KIRK:

Lieutenant Noonien-Singh’s recent observations have given me an idea. I would like to see if I can get close enough to one of the mist monsters in order to scan its biosigns and potential frequencies with my tricorder. This data may help reveal a correlation to the ghost line force field. Would you care to assist me?

My name is La'an Noonien-Singh. I arrived here four days ago.

Approximately twenty-four hours ago I was tracking one of your monsters that came through the fog in an attempt to head it off from crossing the ghost line and threatening larger population centers. Only when the creature got to the boundary it was unable to cross.

I then decided to patrol the ghost line. Twice I witnessed creatures unable to cross the boundary.

Having read previous encounters of monsters regarding the ghost line, I have a working theory. Please tell me if this aligns with your experiences or if any of my facts are wrong.


ONE: monsters that enter Dunwich within the parameters the ghost line are unable to get out.

TWO: people that cross the ghost line and have an out-of-body experience have reported releasing a monster from their incorporeal form. monsters that enter this world outside the ghost line are able to cross its boundary at will.

THREE: monsters don't appear to pass out or have out of body experiences when they come in contact with the ghost line, regardless on which side of the force field they arrived on.


CONCLUSION: the force field, or ghost line as you call it, wasn't designed to trap us, it was designed to trap the creatures that come from the mist. Maybe creatures from the mist in particular have a certain frequency or quality that the ghost line is specifically tuned to.


That wouldn't explain why we're here or have been pulled in alongside the monsters.

I will let you know if I come across any other observations about the creatures that may be useful to our efforts.
