NPCs
Katniss Everdeen
Katniss is very resilient, brave, determined, skilled and intelligent. She is also capable of great self-sacrifice. She fed her family following her father's death and her mother's depression. She volunteered for her sister, taking her place in the hunger games. During the games, she came up with several plans to help her win and in the end, to ensure that both herself and Peeta would be declared victors. In the Quarter Quell games, she was equally determined but with a different goal - that Peeta survive instead of herself. After being freed from the arena, it was her actions that led to all of the surviving tributes being rescued and protected from any prosecution. She took an active role in the rebellion, and was able to convince other members to follow her on a mission to kill Snow. In the end, she decided to execute Coin instead of Snow to avenge her sister and to protect the future, despite thinking she would face dire consequences for it.
She was not executed or imprisoned for killing Snow. Eventually, she was returned to her district. This is the point in cannon that she is from, after she had the nightmare about the ashes, before she saw that Peeta was back.
Katniss appears to be very reserved and uncaring. However, her compassion for others was still there and resurfaced many times. It takes a strong connection or a powerful event, her to overtly show this compassion outright. It can be seen on a smaller scale in her day to day life, if one is watching for it. While Katniss keeps her feelings hidden, she has them. She has been through a great deal of traumatic events, and they affect her in many ways.
Combeferre
Combeferre was a medical student and later described as a doctor in the novel. He is very smart, not only studying medicine, but theatre, hieroglyphics, geology, entomology, etc. He thinks all things are possible, and will not deny any possibility, not even ghosts or miracles. He is more than a scientist. He's a philosopher and idealist, with faith in peace and humanity. He wants to combine revolution with what he saw as a civilised destiny for all of humanity. He believes that when there were no more kings, there would be no more war.
Combeferre's values led him to be a member of Les Amis de l'ABC. He acted as their guide, while Enjolras lead them. He tried to encourage the other members of the group to think and act sensibly and move slowly. He never wanted them to stop their efforts entirely. He believed they could achieve their goals, especially that their actions could end peacefully with real improvements to France.
He has a sense of humour, but is not as charming or dramatic as some of the other members of Les Amis. If someone says something he disagrees with, he speaks his mind and defends his point of view, usually gently and simply. He is capable of long speeches - he has no desire for long arguments, especially with those he considers friends. He'll always be be loyal to his friends, support them and accept any consequences that they faced together, even death.
Combeferre is very compassionate. He had a great deal of sympathy for those that would be left behind when they died, especially the women who in their society were often financially dependent on the men. He had compassion for the men they fought against as well, seeing how easily they could be brothers. Most of all, he had compassion for the injured and dying. While he fought on the barricade, he also acted as their doctor. He died while tending to the wounded. He is taken from right before his death.
Cindy Moon/Silk
Cindy is another resilient and determined woman. She was bit by the same radioactive spider that bit Peter Parker and gained powers that she could not control. Her parents sent her to live with a man for training. He hid her in a bunker to keep safe from a villian named Morlun and a group known as the Inheritors. She stayed in that bunker for over ten years until Peter showed up and got her out of it. They teamed up and fought Morlun together and would later fight the inheritors with other spider-verse spiders. Her experience in the bunker left her out of time in a way, lacking knowledge about the missing years, such as improvements in technology and pop culture references. She became claustrophobic and prone to anxiety as well. She is immature, awkward and generally lacking in social skills as she did not have had proper life experience to benefit from.
Cindy did not let her time in the bunker, or any of the related issues, prevent her from living her life. She took a job as an intern reporter after the bunker and the news stories bothered her. She saw herself as a good person and felt an obligation to help others. She became a vigilante, taking on the identity of 'Silk' with enthusiasm and becoming much better with using her powers. Her motives were not completely pure. She also has a temper and a part of her enjoys fighting. The same temper shows up whenever she feels someone is being condescending to her, which happens - she occasionally acts young, and she looks young for her age.
Cindy has had other accomplishments as well, working undercover for shield as well as finding her and rescuing her brother, than her parents, though all of her achievements came with personal costs. She's been through a great deal personally and as a superhero. She's aware of this, and has been willing to see a therapist. Furthermore, she sees herself as less than other heroes in certain ways, with the potential to mess things up. She wants to improve herself and her ability to be a hero.
Eleven/El/Jane Hopper
Eleven has a number of powers. She was raised in a laboratory in her early years, along with other children, and used to make contact with the 'upside down' . She escaped the laboratory and made friends with Mike, Lucas, Will and Dustin, proving herself to be a good and loyal friend. She was able to be kind and caring, despite everything she'd been through. Later, she would make friends with Max and develop a best friendship with her. She also entered into a relationship with Mike. She was adopted by Hopper. The two had hard times, she saw him as overprotective and restrictive; she wanted to explore the world. He wanted to keep her safe. There was also normal teenage rebellion and the adjustment of a dad to her having a boyfriend. However, Hopper and El were a family. She was brokenhearted when he disappeared. She was taken in by Joyce and moved away from Hawkins.
She was a very quiet girl for a long time, in part because she had a limited vocabulary, especially in comparison to other children in her time and their slang. She became more social and outgoing with time. Her social skills developed more slowly and when she was able to attend school, she was vulnerable to bullies. She tried to lie to make her life seem better, both to her boyfriend back in Hawkins and the bullies. That all backfired on her. She isn't a good liar and she has a terrible temper when provoked.
She does have strong mental powers, though they had stopped working and she's only recently had them return. She is also dealing with the return of upsetting memories of what happened to the other children from the lab. That said, she is a strong fighter both with her powers and with sheer tenacity. She will never give up.
