If anyone comes across a statue that looks suspiciously like a person turned to stone, can you let us know?

There's at least two statues of locals that look like they've been turned to stone. I'm trying to find out if there are any others but maybe the police can block off the areas and keep the statues safe until we know more?

MIST researchers, we should see what we can find out.

I'm not exactly sure what to make of this. If its a Dunwich thing or what, but I've got a hellhound puppy now.

Nikolai and I found him in the lighthouse. I have no idea how long he's been in there but he's decided that I'm his.

Salem is less than amused.

I'm gainfully employed again, so there's that. I'd make a bigger deal out of it if it wasn't exactly what I've mostly done since the late 1960s, so I'm happy to let this one slip past.

But just as a hypothetical, what would happen if you hit the ghost line at full speed? Does anyone know?

I'm aware I don't know a ton of you guys yet, but I'm in a little bit of a tight spot at the moment.

I need the kind of sustenance that your average wargh-blargh-I-am-Dracula-actually-we-actually-kind-of-dislike-Dracula-and-Bram-Stoker-in-my-world-because-they're-a-little-you-know? Dramatic

And I am not in town. I played Timmy in Oliver Twist in school once.

Imagine that scene.

We know who the catbus is going after next. This is going to be our best opportunity to get people out when it opens up, but I'm going to need help.

There are a lot more creatures in the fog than the catbus. I need a couple of fighters^✎ with me to make sure nothing attacks us while I enact my admittedly not the best plan.

This thing is clever and may try to draw us somewhere dangerous if it catches on that we're up to something. So... anyone that can draw monsters away to other parts of the town? A lot of you can handle yourselves and I could use any help I can get.

I need to go now. Who's available?

Hey, so I'm going to start by saying I'm fine.

There are large spider [...] creatures eating the magic wards protecting my house. I think they're attracted to magic.

I'm just going to gather a few things and calmly walk to Pickman. Just a reminder, I'm immortal, pretty much indestructible, I can make the walk without putting anyone else at risk.

Just wanted to give a heads up to everyone who may or may not have just warded their house.

We've had enough sightings and kidnappings going around that I'm formally activating the MIST Emergency Protocols. I know we still have to work, and still want to go out, so I'm asking those in Search and Rescue, Fighting, and Magic divisions to offer themselves here on this post if people need someone to go with them to school, work, the bar, your shopping. I realize it's not as glamorous as full on fighting these things, but you never know when something is going to come back.

If you run into anything out there, please give us as detailed of a description — visuals, smells, sounds, anything — as you can give. Locations. If you managed to injure it. If you managed to kill it, bring it back to MIST would be ideal so we can study it.

Thank you to all the volunteers. Remember, if you're interested, we have four divisions you can volunteer for: Search and Rescue (requires specific training), Fighting (you have fighting skills), Magic (some of this is fighting, some of this is other spell thing), and then Medical/Healing. Hi, Percy- my name is Nikolai, and Julia pointed me your way. My girlfriend, Sabrina, and I were attacked down by the beach yesterday out near the boardwalk. The creature..looked like a child at first, crying for help, and then turned into some sort of half octopus, half human monster that seemed determined to drag Sabrina down into the ocean. She wasn't successful, but we were both pretty banged up after. We're pretty sure this is related to a local sea god.

All this to say- we understand that you have some..communication with the water and the creatures in it? Is there any way you might be able to help us figure out some sort of protection?

Okay, yeah, I'd like to report something immediately.

So you know that weird statue of The Unknown Traveler? Spock and I definitely heard some rather freakish sounds out in the mist today, and whatever it was seemed pretty damn close.

There were also footprints of the non-humanoid variety.

Hello! I'm Percy. This is my first time really using a cell phone so I'm sorry if I mess up the texting etiquette. Also Julia was kind enough to install an Ancient Greek app to translate everything for me because other languages get a bit jumbled in my head so first off THANK YOU JULIA. You've all met Julia, right? She's super nice. Totally saved my life this morning. Apparently I almost swam into your GHOST LINE. How awkward would that have been? ARRIVAL

The thick, ghastly haze of the mist, once practically opaque to the naked eye, fades and opens up to a nostalgic homegrown New England town. A friendly gazebo, freshly painted white sits on a neatly mown lawn at the center of the town square. Vehicles stop at the redlight while locals cross the street, birds chirp in the trees, and a school bus stops to pick up a few children in oversized backpacks. Pedestrians walk by you without a second glance. Did they not see you suddenly appearing out of nowhere? How could they not have noticed that all encompassing fog? And why doesn’t your obviously otherworldly attire catch their attention? This appears to be a small, close knit community. And it’s clear you’re not from around these parts.

But these are simply the first of many mysteries you’re about to discover.

The further you investigate your new surroundings, the more ominous this seemingly quaint and colloquial town becomes. There’s something dark beneath its pleasant guise. You can’t shake the chill at the back of your neck and the sense that someone—or something—is watching you. Then there’s the odd graffiti on the alleyway walls and the way the locals talk about certain locations. And while the mist is gone, there are places in town that make you reminisce about the mist. Places that feel supernaturally thin. Thin enough to let in whispers from the other side. Or maybe even screams.

And don’t worry if you hear laughter or the jingling chimes of carnival coming from the rain gutters in the street. That’s just your imagination. There’s nothing down there.

Nothing that floats.
