I finally have a job, despite everything happening. It's a weird feeling, going from having your future plotted out for you, knowing exactly what you would be doing with your time, to landing here and being directionless.

For now though, I'll be working at Town Hall as an Executive Assistant.

I've started going through the studio, and while I don't plan to get rid of everything, I have a lot of art supplies that could use a new home. I recall we've had several people asking about where to find paints or canvases- Benedict left a lot behind, so if you're someone who could use anything, please let me know and you can stop by to see what you might use.


I'm nearly caught up on orders now, if anybody is still looking for custom clothing.

Would any of you by any chance be able to help with possible..wards or protections of some kind for the shop? After finding out that Alexis disappeared through the shop as well, perhaps there could be a way to block the upstairs entirely if the portals are open?

If I was at home, my sister witches and I would be preparing a feast for tonight, after a day outside foraging and harvesting.Probably followed by a fire and a ceremony lead by our Supreme. There were rumors she was going to invite the White Witch as well, which would have been amazing. That won’t be the case this time, but I think I might go for a walk and have a small fire on the beach when it gets darker.

Hi. Would you be available to meet me for coffee? Or tea. Whatever you would prefer to drink. I would like to continue our previous conversation now that I’ve had some time to settle. If you’re open to that.

A few months ago, I asked for people with potential for emergency responders. I think it's time to not only update that, but put some people in charge of aspects of it.

• SEARCH AND RESCUE: There's a very specific set of skills needed for search and rescue. Physical training is an absolute necessity. FEMA has training courses to develop your Search and Rescue skills. I won't be taking anyone in this position who does not have a certification in first aid or CPR. Especially give that Sam Wilson does training for this on Sundays.
  
• FIGHTING: I don't care how you fight, just know that if we get a call for fighting, we're going to need all the people we can get.
  
• MAGIC: Whether this is magical fighting or just spells to dissuade people, clarify.
  
• MEDICAL/HEALING: What it says on the tin. Liv Moore is in charge of Medical here at Mist, so I'm going to put her in charge of this.

Online introductions are apparently the way to go here. Hi, everyone. I’m Mallory, new arrival and still a little bewildered about everything. This is a very impressive set up. I’ve ever had someone just willingly hand me a cellphone to keep while walking down the street. Or ever. But that solves one problem. Thanks to everyone at MIST for being so incredible to new arrivals.

Don’t go past the boundaries, there’s no known way back, weird things tend to happen, I can stay at Pickman house (thank you), MIST is a key place for all of us, avoid the Church, Time and Again will probably be my favorite place. Anything else I should be aware of from those who’ve already been through this?

Lastly, I hear there is a coven. Is there someone specific I can speak to there? A leader or council I should approach?

ARRIVAL

The thick, ghastly haze of the mist, once practically opaque to the naked eye, fades and opens up to a nostalgic homegrown New England town. A friendly gazebo, freshly painted white sits on a neatly mown lawn at the center of the town square. Vehicles stop at the redlight while locals cross the street, birds chirp in the trees, and a school bus stops to pick up a few children in oversized backpacks. Pedestrians walk by you without a second glance. Did they not see you suddenly appearing out of nowhere? How could they not have noticed that all encompassing fog? And why doesn’t your obviously otherworldly attire catch their attention? This appears to be a small, close knit community. And it’s clear you’re not from around these parts.

But these are simply the first of many mysteries you’re about to discover.

The further you investigate your new surroundings, the more ominous this seemingly quaint and colloquial town becomes. There’s something dark beneath its pleasant guise. You can’t shake the chill at the back of your neck and the sense that someone—or something—is watching you. Then there’s the odd graffiti on the alleyway walls and the way the locals talk about certain locations. And while the mist is gone, there are places in town that make you reminisce about the mist. Places that feel supernaturally thin. Thin enough to let in whispers from the other side. Or maybe even screams.

And don’t worry if you hear laughter or the jingling chimes of carnival coming from the rain gutters in the street. That’s just your imagination. There’s nothing down there.

Nothing that floats.
