Report of a fire at the Church of the Beam came in at 03:46. Responded at 03:48 and arrived on scene at 03:56. Confirmed report and observed the near-total destruction of the church.

Fire engine arrived shortly after. I have cordoned off the area. The fire is out. Number of victims unknown. Locals have begun gathering in the area. They are restless and uncooperative.

Assistance welcome.

Well, this is unexpected. I had it on pretty good authority who was responsible for all of that but this is different.

This is something new. And, if I’m right, entirely unrelated. I’m even back on Earth. Different timezone, though. So. Question is - who brought me here? And how?

The Bad Moon Festival is this weekend. Last year, some weird things happened. Those of us who were at the Todash Tavern — someone was told to play Bad Moon Rising. We all went into a trance that gave us memories of being in the Todash Tavern in the 1990s. It wasn't our first hint that we may have been here before, but it was the largest group to experience it. At the end of that, there was a monster that came out of the red door when Alexis and the others came back.

We discovered a time capsule, but some had to break into the church to get it. Those who broke into the church ended up with some nasty curses for a while.

Those of you who went to the Church found that the stained glass moved and counted several full moons. There was also a little bit of an issue with one of the Mistakes, Eddie Munson, blacking out during the preacher's ceremony.

I can't stop you from going, but I would warn you against it.

Something or someone has destroyed the gazebo. I have cordoned off the area and collected evidence.

Given the location and its relation to the wave of arrivals last month, it may be connected to Father Andrew and the mayor.

A connection to the recent unexplained disappearances cannot be excluded. So far I have collected six names: all people who appeared at the gazebo and were subsequently unable to access their Pickman lodgings. All have since vanished without a network log.

The gazebo appears to have been repaired.

I've read a few other posts from those missing. Of the ones gone, they all appeared at around the same time. Not all of the ones who appeared around then left though. It's baffling like this place is.

- Father Andrew departed the Church looking intensely irate.
- The mayor departed Town Hall not long after in a similar state.
- None of the other locals seemed perturbed.
- The Church closed its doors soon after.

Has anyone seen a vigilante running around town at all? Dressed in black, wears a cape, stick in the mud? Goes by Batman? I only ask because his car is currently parked in my driveway. With the keys inside. And if this is a test, I am too weak to resist.

I was starting to doubt it, that's all. I'd never seen it. It was like Santa or Nessie or the Abominable Snow Man. I'd heard things but I didn't know if I could believe it. The tales of olde, a day without rain.

Unimportant note 1- I'm going to have some trouble this month with a new phobia, which is uncalled for and I'm going to need one hell of a note for work and I'm going to need more atmospheric lighting in my apartment. Maybe some neon signs?

Unimportant note 2 - Last night I accidentally opened my phone camera and took a selfie. This has never worked for me before, and as someone who has not seen his visage since 1973 - I'm still cute I'm really glad I shaved before I was Embraced.

But I digress.

We lived. We lived through this battle. And I happen to think this needs celebrating, you know?

I think all of our battles need celebrating. Not with balls, because those get weird and we're all leery of those now, I know. I've not been here long, but I'm getting the serious implication that this place does not like it when we work together. And to that I say 'fuck you'.

So I'm going to be cooking up a feast. Actual chefs are welcome to join me because I haven't needed to cook anything since 1973 and I still burned water before that. Maybe you guys could tell me when Helen, Frances and Edna are pulling my leg and I don't need to froth egg whites with Sprite and a fish fork or boil ketchup to make frosting or whatever. We're going to have onion blossoms. Pie. Chicken. Meatloaf. And yeah, more specific diets where required.

And we're all going to sit down in a couple of days, and we're going to have a feast. We're going to eat, be merry, and be thankful we're still alive. We're going to play board games and old video games on a Sega System that I found in the trash. We're going to talk. We're going to snack. We're going to laugh. We're going to remember those who left us. And we're all going home with leftovers.

Do we have any birthdays coming up? Did we forget any? We can celebrate those too.

This is not an April Fool's joke, either. As a Malkavian, I've got the rest of the year for that.
