Destination: Tortuga

....it seems that I've managed to do quiet a number on myself. It's one thing to wake up in a strange place (seems to be a pattern), but there's the bother of being in a strange place with pirates. Pirates who apparently have weapons and chase you with them if you refuse to do what they say.

I got lucky that they gave up, but the bump on my head is proof that I didn't get out unharmed. No idea how long I've been out, but I'm bloody starving and I can't get anyone on the phone. I'm bloody starving though. If anyone could tell me where to find some food, and maybe a bath, I'd be grateful.

Destination: Tortuga

Has anyone an idea how we've come to this island? I have to be honest when I say I am growing tired of this.

I believe I'm growing accustomed to this place, but I find myself feeling rather useless biding my time within the castle. If someone would be willing to assist me in regaining my medical license, perhaps I might be able to put my skills to better use.

[Yes, this is her way of requesting forged documents.]

As I have not yet ventured out of the castle, and don't intend to without purpose, considering the strange nature of this place, I would like to inquire if there was a medical school in the vicinity I might be able to attend. It's been years since I've been to a university, and I've come to realise how limited my knowledge is. Considering that I might find myself here for quite some time, I'd prefer to find a way to keep myself occupied and, eventually, useful.

I appreciate any information given.

The Land of Make Believe?

Where or what is the Land of Make Believe? More importantly, why am I here?

Anyone keeping up with the news lately?

I managed to get a job at a deli in the city. I'm thinking about getting back into radio, if there's a station based in this city. As far as I can tell, it's got just about anything you can imagine, so there must be a radio station. Does anyone actually listen to the radio anymore? It wasn't all that popular in my time and I'm still not entirely sure what year it is. Or if it even matters, since this isn't really Earth.

From what I've gathered, the future is built upon an empire of pornography and... was there more?

Oh my God. Who knew setting human bodies on fire for a day would be so exhausting!

Human flesh requires extended exposure to 760°C in order to ignite. The human body, burns outside-in in a rapid cycle of layer-by-layer dehydration and ignition. The body must be dehydrated first, obviously. However, the depth of the burns on multiple victims when combined with the estimated length of exposure time can be used to determine the temperature the heat source that caused the burns was and therefore identify the source itself.

So therefore. Consider the Following )
I mean, I suppose that means I've just confirmed what we already knew--that the main source of the fire was Methane, but I hope that helps, Sherlock!!

Question.

How many individuals here are medical doctors?

Of those individuals, how many of you have a limp or require a cane, because I am beginning to notice a trend that I find altogether too strange.

Since it's become very apparent that I'm not going anywhere, I've decided it was time to go into business for myself. I'll be offering my services as a consulting detective for anyone with a problem captivating enough to interest me.

I am still looking for someone to help me. Preferring someone who isn't Irish.

That's all.

Sherlock Holmes.
