Network comm for The Land of Make Believe

I see that Lt. Uhura has already made use of these rudimentary communication devices. It appears that they are indeed the simplest and most straightforward way to communicate with the inhabitants of this place, despite the rather simplistic and overly quaint technology involved. Nonetheless, I shall attempt to make do.

I am Commander Spock, First Officer of the USS Enterprise. It has been nearly a week since I found myself marooned on this planet, which is unknown to me. It is much like Earth of the distant past, it seems, although this device is a definite anachronism, as are many of the inhabitants here.

I should be interested to know which of you are not from Earth, and how you came to find yourself here. Also, are there peoples indigenous to this place?

So, I got a job! I am a volunteer for the firehouse. I can't believe it. I am pretty excited, it should be a good thing. I can get to help people, and I can learn to cook some for the firefighters. I don't know if I am really cut out for it, because I am going to have to go to classes, but it's okay. I don't want to give up. I'm just not smart enough, but I will have to do my best. Rachel believes in me, so I need to start to learn to believe in myself. Things are going okay, I mean, I have a job, and I have Rachel back. It could always be worse, right?

I have to say that it was nice to have a day off. Not even classes today which was nice. I spent the entire day with my son. He is just getting so big, he will almost be a year and I can't believe it. I hope that if I have a party in the big dining hall in May that people will show up and everything. But, I still have two months to think about that. I have to say that classes are going really well, learning some really interesting stuff. When I'm done with school and if anyone needs a lawyer I'll be that person.
