six; August 12, 2012: after Mason's drama-ful post

Filtered to Daisy
So, is that how you knew about my birthday? I really didn't think I'd told anyone.

I was reading through some of the comments, and it sounds like you can't control it, and I can hardly fault you for that when I can't even control my own powers. Especially since mine is so much more dangerous when it's out of control than yours is.

I'm sorry some of the others are being mean about it. It can't be fun to always hear about our silent whining. Sorry for my contribution to that.

Question for, well ... everyone: do you ever wonder why you got the particular power you did? Is there another power you wish you had? Or one you're glad you don't have?

I want to go home. I might not ever be able to learn to control my fires at home, but at least I can just lock myself away in my room and not have to worry about possibly hurting somebody.

But I've made friends here. Who I'll probably hurt on accident next time I get upset or stressed out.

Why couldn't I have gotten a power that can't hurt other people?

Thank you.

At least the week seems to be ending better than it started. I'm glad it's the weekend.

17 for a whole day now, and it doesn't feel any different. Except for the extra minutes I got, which was nice to call mom and dad back home, and some extra money is really nice, too. Mom said they sent me a birthday package last week, but with international shipping and it being inspected here, I'm not too bummed that I haven't gotten it yet. At least I know it's on the way. It was weird to spend my birthday here, away from home. The only other time I've not been home for my birthday was when we were in Hawaii for dad's sabbatical when I was twelve.

And still a whole 'nother year til I can do pub nights. Though I kinda hope we're not all still here by then. And it's not like I really want to drink, anyway. I can barely control my fires when I'm sober, I don't want to think what would happen if I was drunk.

Cheerleading tryouts yesterday was actually pretty fun. Thanks for not letting me chicken out, Tess. I always sort of wanted to try out for the cheerleading squad at my high school, but I never did. Not that I was there very long, anyway.

And because I was just thinking how much I miss going to the Spaghetti Warehouse downtown for my birthday dinner, I gotta ask: what do you miss most about home?

I have never been so glad to have been stuck at home for the last year and a half as right now. It sucked, but at least it means there's no video out there of me. And I guess it's lucky that everyone was too shocked when I lit Laura's hair on fire to get that on video, too.

I never really did all that great at PE in school, either. After powers assessment yesterday and fitness today, I think I'm actually looking forward to the counseling session tomorrow. At least it shouldn't be as hard.

two; July 16, 2012; early afternoon

I've been thinking, and I'm probably never going to use any of the 120 minutes I get each week for phone calls, so if anyone wants to work out any kind of trade for them, I'm open for it. Better than them just going to waste, right? After all, most of the rest of you probably have people back home to call besides your parents, and mine are fine with Skype and e-mail. Wow, Jaycee, way to go and sound friendless there.

So, we've already had someone ask what everyone's powers are, and another ask about our sexual histories. And yet nobody's done anything about introductions yet. I mean, we're all going to be here together for however long, we might as well know everybody's names, right?

So, who are you? Where are you from?

I'm Jaycee, I'm sixteen, and I'm from Austin, Texas.
