I think I'm going to ask an incredibly obvious but no less troubling question: what's changed? This got long and rambling even for my standards, so sorry about that.

I don't just mean the rules, though they're troubling in and of themselves, but there seems to have been some sort of internal shift as well. Trask for one looks about ready to have some sort of mental breakdown, to the point he's asking us what to do. That's not normal, is it? Team Leaders across the board appear to be having some sort of particularly odd reaction and I'm not entirely sure the constant training and new regime rules are what's got them off kilter. I'm not sure if it's that they know something or because they don't know something and are getting a little worried or angry or something in their own right because of it, but something's definitely shifted.

I don't even think it's VR necessarily, at least not by itself. The knowledge of the serum being kept and this new threat from them might have been a catalyst, but I don't think it's the whole story. If there are (and likely have been since the beginning) clandestine operations going on, they're usually more subtle about the ways in which they exert power. I'm not sure it's completely about testing. We've all used the same medical facilities, so it isn't as if they don't have materials to work with especially if Myra herself was the key to the depower serum and if so, does that put Amber in dang and certainly a few of us at least are curious enough to test what we can do and do that work for them. So I'm at a loss as to why they're pushing training and advancement so hard, if it's pushing people closer to solitary than working for them. Unless they want people in solit

The only thing I can come up with is that something behind the scenes, likely with the 'higher ups' has changed or they've found some new information they don't feel like sharing. There's just too much going on and too many variables and even I can't seem to find something that unifies everything into making sense.

I have a question for the populace, if it's not too intrusive.

While I know many people have experienced power levels change over time, does anyone believe they have reached their limit? That their control is absolute and there will be no more expansion?

I'm just curious, considering the extra training that's now in effect.

I was going to remind the Doctor Who fans it's a new episode viewing tomorrow, but I have to ask. Was it really more than thirty people? That really makes the whole 'enough cells for everyone' all the more

I think you're the only person I haven't seen yet. Are you alright? Did I miss anything?

When your mother starts off with a string of particularly creative swearing, you know whatever has happened is bad. I hadn't seen Dad yelling in that it wasn't just politicians but people who aren't made of pure unadulterated greed didn't hel IVI really is about to become a battle ground, isn't I think it's safe to say she understated it.

I think we can also safely say that any designs had on returning home at any point soon have just been scuppered, as I imagine has most hopes any of us had about this ending without further bloodshed. I'm not convinced this isn't Hume's people giving us a bad But then they'd be killing off people which seems to contradict Either way, please take responsibility for your own fucking crimes and don't drag us I hate having words put in mouth simply because of biology. I like having blood put on my hands and fear incited on behalf of it because of it even less. They're going to look at us like we're fucking monsters no The words "fuck" and "off" immediately spring to mind, if I'm being completely honest.

Looking at this, it hit me that the nightmares were five months ago yesterday. That feels really, really strange.

That's probably healthier to think about than our security system.

Monday morning.

I realise normal is relative, but nothing insane has happened yet. Do you think it's over?

Thank you.

We have counselling today. I can't be the only one not appreciating that.

I don't like mondays.

That played out almost exactly how I imagined, except I figured it would just be Hume's own people removing an expendable and playing a game of both sides by giving themselves their very own Vol people to be revered and hated as need be. I really hope that doesn't turn out to be true and it's my inner conspiracy theorist going mental.

If nothing else, while there is neat lights and it's appropriately cold, nothing tells me I'm home like this.

It's hard enough to handle this weather in December, but without the coca-cola advert or the snowman, I think I'm in holidays withdrawal. You'd think we'd know by now whether we'll be allowed to leave or not. I hate giving empty assurances to home about it.

Movie night - preferably holiday based. Any recommendations and guests would be welcome.

If you still want to do this, after training at some point this week?

I'll blame Moa for this line of thinking, but I'm kind of wondering if the ability we have is now so intrinsically a part of us that to remove it would be like losing a part of ourselves. On that note, do you think that for every ability, there is someone somewhere who has an ability that negates it?   Kind of like a natural fail safe or some kind of symmetry in case people misuse or something.

Call me curious, but watching the discussions today has made me wonder: how many of us (for one reason or another) don't drink alcohol?

Feel free to filter responses as you see fit.

For the possibly first time, I wish the news coverage had been a little more delicate in it's reports. When the parents are freaking out more than you, you know it's bad. Especially at stupid o'clock in the morning.

The words "called it" come to mind. Freedom should not be conditional, especially not now.

1984. V for Vendetta. I do hope the book based on this gets a good title, because if we're going to have our freedom dependant on being tagged like animals, we had better at least get a good title.

I really hope this isn't going to end up being a security issue for us to return home (for those who want to) for the holidays.

I'm not a fan of politics as a rule. Or at all. What I will say is that while the likelihood of this being a puppet government is high, that doesn't mean people shouldn't try to make a difference. If they're stubborn enough and have the stamina for it, it might surprise us and if it goes horribly, it's fun to say 'I told you so' so the cynics can have that.

As always with pub night, people can feel free to have my tickets if they want them. I'm starting to think there should be a spares jar.

[Sunny]
What about putting up a Cancelled Night for the television? I'm sure via the nerd network (which I think makes you the Wonder Woman commanding the league) we'd have a lot of great old shows to watch. Particularly the poor people who've never seen Firefly. If you think we could get enough to have a night a week watching an episode of maybe 4 or 5 shows, it could be interesting. Think people would be interested?
