Hey everyone. I was going to post this yesterday, but the timing didn't seem right, so here it is.

Anyway, she's been real quiet about it lately, but Sunday's Jodi's birthday, and I think she wants to do a thing. Friends, food, fun. And music. I mean, it IS Jodi. I was thinking maybe later on Sunday afternoon/evening, just so that everyone's done with church and nobody's still pooped out from Pub Night.

Kind of short notice, I know, but we just pulled together a pretty awesome party for Jack (happy birthday Jack) in about as much time, so I figure we can do it.

You can invite your friends and all too, but let me know if there's anyone you think should be included in planning that isn't.

I think I need some advice, so long as you guys don't go spreading this around or anything.

Hey, IVI. I know I don't make a lot of posts on here, but something's been bothering me for a while, and I just wanted to get this off my chest.

First, I am not a Mormon, and I haven't been for almost a year now, so constantly referring to me as the Mormon kid is factually inaccurate.

Second, even if I was, it still wouldn't be okay. I've never heard anyone else called "the Muslim guy" or "the Hindu girl" or anything like that as much as people talk about my old religion. And that's all it is. A religion. It's not like that's all I am or was, and knowing that I was a Mormon doesn't mean that you know anything else about my private life or are entitled to any of those details.

Third, I am sick and tired of people using "Mormon" as an insult when some of the greatest people you could ever hope to meet are Latter-day Saints. My whole family are Mormons, and so is pretty much every friend I ever had before coming to IVI. Heck, a Mormon could be the President of the United States in less than three weeks. Mormons are normal, cool people. There's just not a lot of us them.

So yeah. That's all.

They just finished installing the rock wall at the gym, so now rock climbing club is approved.

So, you know, let me know if you're interested.

I just wanted to take a moment to say a word for the victims of the 9/11 attacks in New York, Washington, DC, and Pennsylvania. I hope that the families of the victims are at peace, as much as they can be. I know it's been more than ten years, but the loss of a loved one is a terrible thing, especially when it happens in such a horrible way. Those wounds don't ever completely heal.

I was only nine when it happened, but I still remember exactly how I found out what had happened. I didn't wake up until after they had happened, and I remember my parents looked real sad, but they didn't tell me what had happened until I got home. I guess they wanted some time to think about it all before they had to explain it for us kids. Kids at my school were spreading rumors about what they thought happened, and by the time I got home, I was sure the country was a battleground in a new war. I guess I wasn't too far off.

That's just me, though. Does anyone else remember?

In case anyone was unaware, Diet Coke and Caffeine-Free Diet Coke taste exactly the same.

Now that we know the administration was serious about making accommodations for an ice rink, I'm thinking it might be worth it to petition for a rock wall in the gym.
