Going on a month and a half sober now.

I'm miserable. I still cry every day.

But I'm sober. I'm not thinking about getting smashed every time I cry now.

It's a long road, and I know you're never completely better. But I'm ready to go home. I'm gonna check in with Tess every day for a while, then eventually check in weekly.

I'm broken, and I doubt I'll ever feel fixed. But I want to stay sober this time.

Jesus fucking Christ. I've never felt more ashamed of myself in my life than I feel right now.

So, I guess I'm staying with friends(?) for a little bit. They're gonna try to help me sober up. Kate, Kylie? You girls know where my money is, you get anything you need, ok? I'm... gonna try to get you back the Ellis you know and love.

To the rest of my family and friends... I'm sorry for what an asshole I've probably been lately. I wish I could tell you that's all in the past, but from what Tess told me, this is gonna get a lot worse before it gets much better. But at least I finally have someone who understands me enough to work with me.

Tess? Ginny? You ladies are a godsend. Since I'll probably be swearing and yelling at you both when I'm craving booze later, let me say right now that I owe you both. Big time.
