Damn it feels good to finally have some money here. I swear I will never, EVER, take having a job for granted again.

So, I got a job, I got a place to live...

Now comes the part where I actually need to make some friends to hang out with.

Kinda feeling odd right now. On one hand, I'm loving it here: no war, no First Order (other than Ren for some reason)... I can actually leave in peace. But on the other hand... there's the part of me that knows back home, The Resistance is still hanging on by a thread, and I'm not there to pitch in whatever I can.

I'm pretty sure the people at the Welcome Center hate me by now. I got here yesterday, but spent roughly 80% of the time I've been here asking them a million questions, trying to somehow accept that this is all real and not some weird dream.

Anyway.

I'm Mark. Hope everyone's doing well.

So I spent most of the night chatting with a couple of people from the welcome center. I learned that this world is basically a "what if..." version of where I'm from. I don't have to hide that I'm a mutant here, which is a great relief. Humans had a real stronghold on us back home. They say that they are fairly sure that there are a couple of kids from my world here, but I don't recognize the names. Doesn't surprise me, though. We probably had completely different walks of life.

Anyway, I'm Melody and I think that I'm going to be living in Providence. It's just a matter of getting settled in.
