One constant of further education across the multiple realities is that homework must be done. On this particular day, Misses Elphaba Thropp and Galina Upland were busy at work in their shared private suite, attempting to practice what they had recently been taught in their sorcery seminar. Their homework - such as it was - was to attempt to have a better handle on this particular spell, at least in comparison to how they had done during class. Madame Morrible had reassured them, reminding them that magic was a very difficult art indeed. With the exception of the Wizard, even the greatest magic users in Oz had their struggles.
It was all well and good saying it in the class, where the words seemed to do the trick but in the dorm room, it seemed as though both girls were utterly hopeless and doomed to never achieve anything in sorcery. As they looked over notes, it seemed like an answer appeared.
Words were chanted, then there was an explosion
... And then they weren't in their dorm anymore.
