My name is Dr Amber Karev. My brother, Dr Alex Karev, is one of the surgeons who helped look after baby Herschel when he was born a few months ago.

I could be overstepping my bounds here, but I was skimming through the network and I happened to read your recent conversation with Katarina. More specifically the part where you mentioned that your life was more about surviving than living, and how you haven't tried living since your parents died.

I'm reaching out to you because I'm a psychiatrist. And my practice is mainly focused on children and teenagers who have experienced trauma. I can see you're going through a lot, and I know firsthand just how overwhelming that can be when you're trying to sort through it all.
