Typically, as far as conflicts went in space, Shepard had someone piloting the Normandy while she shouted orders to fire at her enemies. She wasn't the one out there in the void in nothing more than a suit, getting shot at. You'd think as a woman who had died after being jettisoned from a ship and being sent into a planets atmosphere that she'd have a fear of being in this situation, but apparently not, as she fought of the enemy with the weapons that she'd been given, shouting a battlecry as she charged her enemy.

Apparently I've passed through some sort of portal, because this is not where I was a few minutes ago.

That, or I'm hallucinating this entire thing, which is, perhaps, even more likely.
