So, we're going all out for Christmas and making dinner. Anyone who wants in is totally welcome! This is the official 'what are we going to eat' thread, make your preferences known and I'll finish up the shopping.

As far as mental things go, that trip was maybe a 2 out of 10.

So, Klaus, were you planning on mentioning to the rest of us that you have children in your care, or were we supposed to just ignore them when we came around to exchange gifts and leave them feeling as awkward and neglected as I always did?

I need sizes and interests and I'm not interested in excuses.

Tonight is the first night of Hanukkah, and as always, I welcome anyone who wishes to observe this Holiday (whether you or Jewish or not) into my home.

We will be lighting the Menorah shortly after nightfall before partaking in pray and a feast of fried foods to celebrate the miracle of the oil. Everyone is Welcome, though please let me know if you intend to stop by so I can ensure there is enough food to go around.

This is the first year I have ever celebrated Christmas as well as my own traditions because Tia and Tony celebrate and I want them to feel as happy and safe here as possible. I have a tree and lights and let them pick out a few random decorations.

Obviously I know about Santa Claus, but is there any other Christmas traditions I might need to know about to make sure that this goes well for them?

I think this is my first time not being forced into setting my blood family for Christmas and it's ten thousand times less stressful... But I do wonder what they'd be doing right now.

I've made bourbon Eggnog if anyone of age wants any. Hot chocolate for those who aren't of age.

I find myself unexpectedly disappointed to return to Manhattan. New Orleans is a city that Sera would have enjoyed very much, and though I'm not as adept as her at creating an atmosphere of festivity it was interesting to attempt to see things through her eyes.

Besides, New York is not New York without the Brooklyn Bridge. At least there is Central Park.

So our apartment (which means me and Dave) has been invaded by two of the most lovely, polite children that I've ever met, and it's been an absolute pleasure. The Entity already gave them all of the toys they could ever wish for, and we donated the rest to children's hospitals. It got very loud in the living room for a while there with all the sing-songy toys.

For those of you curious as what to give the two children under our care, Tia and Tony are ten and twelve years old respectively. Don't give them pets, please.
