You know, it's weird to think that this will be our very first Halloween. The Earth books probably didn't prepare us for this.

Is it bad now that I don't need the brace, that I'm starting to get restless? Not that I didn't get restless before, but still. Although, the presents from my birthday have definitely kept me preoccupied.

One? My birthday was pretty amazing. Two? There was a lot of people that made that happen. I have never seen that many people in my life. That's crazy. Not even back on the Ark.

Some days there's this weird bittersweet feeling, like science is so cool, and I really wish everyone could have stuck with using it to make people's lives better instead of finding new and better ways of killing each other.

Which I recognise is possibly a little ironic from someone who got a damn good reputation for getting things done in the Special Forces, but I guess that's the eternal contradiction of humanity (and also capitalism).

This place seems to twist and turn so much. Right now, though, I need to try and figure a few things out.

One? Chocolate is yummy! John shared some with me and it was really good. Two? I've never seen SO much food in my life. And three? THERE'S A LAB! With lots of cool stuff! Some of it looks a bit complicated, but I know it's not. I like machines and they like me too. This is pretty awesome.
