My mother was American but we didn't celebrate any American holidays. Actually we didn't really celebrate any holidays. Then last year everyone mostly just did their own thing for Thanksgiving since Peter and Stark both had friends they wanted to spend time with and Stephen mostly just shut himself in his library.

Hey, hey, Pete and I are back with new national days. Or, in this case, national day. Since December is packed with holidays, we decided to just celebrate one day this time. It is a good one too.

We're holding a contest in the building's community area that night. Refreshments will be served. We are also looking for a third judge who is not family. Volunteers?

...why is it so blasted busy out? I tried to pop into a shop to get something and it was chaos. This normal?

Now that I wouldn't be ruining any holidays... It's been mentioned that I could graduate at the end of the year. I already have a job lined up, and I'd still live here at least until May if not longer. But I'm taking advice on the subject.

I apologize if anyone has been trying to contact me through the network lately. I've been blatantly ignoring it for reasons I'm not proud of. I sincerely hope no one has taken it personally. I just found out some news that had me very depressed for a while but I've realized that wallowing won't change anything.

I've been told that there have been a lot of new arrivals since I last posted on here who may know of me. For those who don't -- I'm Remus Lupin. I come from Wizarding World England of 1978. I work at Stark Industries right now researching how technology and magic might interact in this strange place. Where I'm from, they don't so it's been very interesting.

Goodland can be a bit of a wild ride at times, but the people here have been very kind and supportive for the most part and that helps a great deal. I hope everyone's settling in alright and had a good holiday.

I did enjoy celebrating Thanksgiving this year, that was my first one in many years. The welcome I have received here has been heartwarming, and I am incredibly grateful for it. I hope you all are stuffed well and in good spirits today, even if you may not be completely surrounded by the whole of your loved ones from home.

Maybe choosing a retail job was a mistake. It's not the worst one I've made, but it's getting close.

Judging from Mjolnir's interest in the roll I brought back with me it would be wise not to let him near any leftovers, or not even the most worthy will be able to lift him.

As I understand it, tomorrow is the day that stores attempt to rid themselves of surplus goods. I plan to attend.
