Well, along with the code I was already working on, I've now got one of my hard drives to go through, see if there's anything useful on it. I know there's some pretty left field notes on some of these. So if I'm quiet for a while, I'm probably just buried in old research.

In my time, books are pretty much all electronic. You can find an actual hard copy in antique shops but it's not that easy. Despite the fact that there is a huge collection available in the Enterprise library, there's nothing I love more than an actual book in my hands, the way they feel, the way they smell, I can't describe it.

When I graduated from nursing school, my parents gave me a first edition copy of Florence Nightingale's Notes On Nursing: What It Is and What It Is Not. My mother wrote an inscription inside and it means the world to me. I never thought I'd see it again but yesterdday morning, it turned up in front of my bedroom door.

Thank you to whoever is responsible for this, I am so happy to have it with me.

Sunday nights are almost unbearably dull. Just the regulars and not a lot of excitement.

After doing some studying on the history between my time and now, I'm sad to see that humanity has learned so little.

I'd always thought by the dawn of the 21st century, we'd be done with war and using our scientific expertise for the betterment of humanity. Instead, we're still using it to find better ways to kill each other.

Terribly disappointing.
