I've got a pretty good spot to catch my breath, so, here's what I know so far. One, scarecrows can't climb trees. Either that or they're playing the long game and psyching me out so they can get me in my sleep in three or four days time, but let's go with option A. They're armed, but it mostly seems to be hand to hand shit, which is great because that's what I'm working with too. Sense-wise I don't think they're getting much from scent and anything psychic has to be pretty low level. There's some pretty intense background noise that covers normal movements unless they can tune it out. Mark that as unclear. Assume they've got sight, maybe some kind of empathy, I wouldn't be surprised if they could track fear or something. If you stay quiet, still, calm and out of sight they'll walk past though. As high as you can get in the trees is good for hiding but the canopy's really dense so it's hard to move around up here. You can cut through it, but it'll pull a lot of attention from all the shit falling and you'll probably scratch yourself to hell.
I haven't had a chance to dissect any yet so I don't know for sure if they just look like scarecrows or if they're actually animated straw but the couple of shots I took didn't do a huge amount so I'm holding onto the rest of the clip. I'd avoid small arms fire, just try to take out their legs or straight up obliterate them if you can. You can outrun them, they struggle a bit with some of the undergrowth, but that's going to be a pain if you're trying to stick to one direction.
Anything else? [pause] Oh, yeah. October sucks.
