Back home I had started taking jiu jitsu for self defense, and in Goodland I was going to a class, but with this place changing almost every month, I think it might be better if I just look for a one-on-one teacher.


So, all that to say: is there anyone here who could continue training me? I picked up a part time job at a coffee shop, so I can pay.

I've almost finished shopping, I think. It's more people than I had to think about at home but that's good. Being on the Defenders was sort of isolating sometimes especially since I was the only girl and the others were so much older. Hanging out with an Asgardian and someone from World War II isn't a very good way of learning about 21st century America and Peter was busy a lot.

I hope we stay in New Orleans through Christmas, I like it here. It's nothing like Transia but it's comfortable. It's like you can feel all the history.

I should probably do holiday shopping finally. Guess I can't just give everyone I know apples.

Did you finish Christmas shopping?

As much as I miss being at the library, it is rather nice to have some time off. I have even been considering getting a Christmas tree. Anyone have suggestions on where to get one? I could magic one but it will be nice to do it the old-fashion way like when I was a kid. Believe it or not, it has been a few years since I have had a tree or a proper Christmas.

Who wants some extra money for last minute shopping? I need help packing gift baskets. You basically just need to be able to count and copy very basic layouts. Priority to under 18s who don't have jobs. Thank you, Freddy and Jane! (And Lizzie)

Also, I'm going to try to make sure that there are decent vegetarian options for the Waifs and Strays Christmas, but is there anyone who might come who has other dietary restrictions? You don't have to know for sure what your plans are, I'd rather have it and not need it than have someone reduced to eating nothing but plain pretzels and celery sticks.
