It seems that today is July the 4th, by Goodland's standards. There are several Christian feast days observed today, and it is also the first evening of Dree Festival in an area of India, as well as Liberation Day, for the Northern Mariana Islands and Rwanda. The Philippines calls today Republic Day. Also, the Aphelion usually occurs around this time, when the Earth is farthest from the sun, though I am not sure if that translates to this tiny pocket dimension.

For me, it is the anniversary of the birth of a very good friend.

I've been swimming for hours and hours and catching a million anemones and sea stars! I got some other games too, Stardew Valley and Summer in Mara and Pokemon Cafe Mix. I'm so happy it's summer now and I don't have to go to school.

God I've missed the 4th being an actual celebration, rather than a public performance of patriotic grief. (Patriotic pathos?) Last year all this still didn't quite seem real and the difference only made it worse. I can probably actually appreciate it this time.
