So far it seems like this was the best way to minimise awkward questions when I'm not in the mood to get into the answer. Except when I first posted this we'd been here three months and we've had a ton of turnaround since then, so. Background context on where I'm from. If you've read it before, ignore it, it's a straight copy paste. If you don't care because we don't talk much, ignore it, just don't expect me to be happy to pick up and explain something on your schedule later. Just some advice about James. He's been through a lot. Decide whether or not you want to be part of his life before you get too far. If you do, be persistent and don't lie to him. He'll act up. He'll test you, he'll push you away, he'll be uncommunicative, he'll probably say things he doesn't entirely mean. He's seventeen and he's had a shit life. You don't have to put up with crap behaviour, just walk away and come back later. But don't conflate what he says and who he is.

If you can't do that, don't even try.

Let's just start the year explaining all the weird universes then. It's a meme, not mind control.

All the timelines, or maybe just all the timelines in my multiverse, have powerful cosmic artifacts called Infinity Stones that control aspects of the universe. Mind, Time, Reality, Space, Soul and Power. I don't know about the other five but Soul has space inside it for a world. In my Soul stone everyone has two souls so at one point this lady Requiem came in from outside and brought a demon who eats souls and uses the essence to weave new realities. We threw her into a black hole and formed the Defenders. There's Arachknight, Iron Hammer, Soldier Supreme and me (Weapon Hex), and my little sister Speed Demon lives in the Citadel too but she's way too young to be on the team, especially since everyone except me is really old.

Let's backtrack then. What do you know about where I'm from?

For those of you not familiar with this version of the 1920s, some information.

Yes, alcohol is illegal, this is the decade they passed the prohibition laws that lasted until the early 30s. As a result, illegal distribution boomed. As you may be able to guess, those who partook in that distribution weren't always the most savour of people. Mobsters really made a killing on it. Literally and figuratively.

So, to avoid any of you entering the wrong speakeasies or getting into some trouble with poorly or improperly mixed alcohol, I do have locations of the more reliable ones and the current codes to enter -they are called speakeasies for a reason. I don't require anything in return, other than perhaps a favour in the future, but it's better no one ends up with alcohol poisoning while we're here. Just tell me you're prepared to meet those terms and I'll send you a map and list of the passwords.

I doubt the hospitals are all that reliable if you aren't taken back to one of our doctor types.
