Christmas is a hard one, but the day after poses difficulties too. In 1914, I was ordered to break a truce, and to force my men to kill men they had only just come to see the humanity in. So. Allow me to get this straight.

If I buy a paper flower from the old lady on the corner, who exactly am I doing any good for? The last time that I checked, dead is dead, and my apologies, but paper poppies will neither repair, nor repopulate, in fact, proving that they are useless, ergo, a waste of my money and my time, ergo purchasing a pack of cigarettes, and what in the hell are they MADE of, gold?, is obviously much worthier of my time and attention.

Remembrance Day, my arse. Remember to sell lots of paper poppies so that we can all dance around with some sort of false hope we're doing well, perhaps.

For all they make America out to be magic, they've not considered what the view is when you're washed up on a shore all by your lonesome, do they?

Never MIND all of the bits and pieces that have not crossed over to us yet, I'd settle for getting somewhere warm, where I can get a decent cigarette. Help on that point, anyone?
