One could almost not imagine that a hospital's A&E wing would be such a...happening place, but whilst I was waiting for a bed to be found (long painful story that is still ongoing, but medicine has improved a good deal and once this incident is under control, there are treatment techniques to be used, here), I managed to make some new friends, I think.

A not quite Scottish couple with a girl near my own age and her fiance just a bit older who were there because the lass got some sort of awful bite from a bird of prey, and another lad who is from close to my time, with a lovely dog, who was waiting to see if a girl he coaches had a serious knock to the head whilst practising for Rugby, or if it was a "run of the mill concussion". While the girls got treated and I waited about, we had quite the interesting conversation, and they've promised to visit while I am still being held prisoner on the youth ward. I will say I've never been IN hospital at home before, when all the doctors came to me, but this experience feels rather less depressing or an invitation to self pity than at home, and it's partly due to having people who have said they'll come to see me, which is nice.

The doctors have said I will still be a few days and I can't monopolise my new friends all the time here, mind, so please, someone here, suggest something for me to do while I am resting, in extreme pain, having blood and other medicines transfused into my body. The television is so obvious I'd welcome other ideas, too.

And if anyone is willing to fetch me something edible, to be snuck past the staff here, I will pay you HANDSOMELY for the trouble.

I've looked through the papers, and asked a bit, but, there are a few things I am in need of, here, and perhaps asking directly will have some better results.

1. How does one obtain a decent job and lodgings here? I don't intend to stay at this hotel forever, but to find a place of my own. I...haven't got any useful job history to report and whilst I have had lessons my entire life and speak a variety of languages, I don't know how useful those skills ARE. My friends say that I'm the brain of our group at any rate. We...solve mysterious happenings and other cases in London for the most part...

2. Can anyone recommend a good doctor? I've...I'm in need of one, and the sooner the better, I think.

3. Is peanut butter actually a food?

4. Is it safe to drink three of those monster drinks in a row?

5. How does the internet ACTUALLY work, though?

Anyone willing to lend a hand?

If there is one thing I’ve learnt from my friends, it is that most need a job to survive in my, and now, this, world, and initial stipend or not, I do not intend to get comfortable in my rented hotel suite forever. Is there any work to be had? Does anyone require a flatmate? And, while we are at it, can someone recommend a good doctor? I’ve a few questions about advances in medicine since my day, since I imagine there are many and the idea is fascinating.

The Americas? This is certainly not the continent my mother had it in her mind to send me to.

I dare to venture this is better or it would be if I didn't seem to be there alone. Has anyone seen two boys and two girls, one of whom is the most beautiful, amazing...
