Today is a...difficult anniversary. Now that my sister is here with me, and there’s another to remember the events of my tenth birthday, it feels a bit less haunted. Enough so that perhaps it would be better to reach out a little. Would anyone care to join me this evening for a drink in honor of the best man, who walked in both our worlds, however briefly he...dabbled...within my realm of things?

To be clear, this is a memorial for Edward Kenway, who deserved far better, and acknowledgement that moving forward, even while remembering the bad does matter, after all.

At ANY RATE, does someone here who knows what they're bloody DOING want to come and GET Shay and stash him somewhere he's not going to prove a danger to himself or others for the next approximately ten days? Or help me build some sort of additional barriers in MY home whilst he's like THIS? There is no way in heaven or hell I'm releasing him to his family until November 3rd, but if any of you wolves want to handle it, I'll gladly cede control.

Do let me know. Or at least help me determine how much aconite can fend him off without killing the man...

Looks like I missed my birthday again. But that’s okay. It’s only a age anyway. When you have three children to raise, birthdays seem kind of redundant. Not that I had a good birthday to remember anyways. Especially since the last birthday I remember, I got murdered by my psycho uncle. Not something I want to remember or celebrate.

This place? It’s hard getting used to. I’m just glad I have my husband, girls and son. I don’t need a pack when I have them. They are the reasons why I get up each day. If they weren’t here, I’d be worse off trust me.

How do people in this timeline handle having terrible coffee and no apocalypse.

When someone begs you for an out you aren’t prepared to give them, because you have been part of a similar situation not by choice, and it’s dictated your life in quite the wrong way...it IS difficult, isn’t it. I’ve had a letter asking for my help, but morally, I am opposed to giving it. I’ve no need for advice of any sort, but the times I can’t help someone who says that they are trapped still rankle all the same, dramatic childishness inspiring them or not.

It’s going to be a long few weeks until the years end, isn’t it?

Yes, Tuesday is the anniversary of my birth. No, I do not want to do or have anything to mark the occasion other than the lot of you leaving me alone to let this go unnoticed. I dare say none of you fools will respect my wishes if I do not make it clear straight from the start.

When does this nightmare end again? My best man actually hit me last night, in front of an entire meeting of the rest of us. Just backhanded me across the face, when we were not remotely arguing in our discussion. I may need to seek outside help here.

While there have been many times I’ve deserved such a thing, this is not one of them. I can accept the one, but not the other.

When one's subordinate tells them to "Get off your high horse or lazy arse, whichever gets the stick out faster, you festering hypocrite", what IS the right response, exactly?

How do you make up for accidentally trying to kill someone while you were blacked out yesterday? Because if I'm this bruised up and bloody and lost TEETH from TRYING to do it, he's probably worse...

Well, I suppose I could suspect no less in one of THIS line on the anniversary of the Boston Massacre, which was, incidentally, well worth the cost, now could I?

I know full well that I am ruthless, blind to the emotional manipulation of others, and that the vast majority of humanity is happier in ignorance than to see the light of truth that shows this world for what it is. I’ve been petty and I have gladly played the game in service of a stronger truth. I am proud of my enlightenment and to do the things most of the ignorant teaming mass could never find convictions toward.

But I have not been cruel to anyone until today, and it was quite unworthy in a man of my position and my principles. Honor would dictate that I aplologize for perhaps the...third time in my life?

I do see why so many people hate it.


And, weak though it is of me, today I miss my father. I am, I think, fifty seven today, by the reckoning of when I came here, and he has been dead for forty seven of those years exactly. For the first time since I’ve ceased allowing myself to be maudlin and weep over the night have berms, I wish that suddenly I had a bit of his compassion in myself...

That made for an intense evening.

My joints may be getting a bit old to cling to only partially exposed, rather unsteady ceiling beams for several hours stretch of time. I WILL be feeling this tomorrow but the ends DO always justify the means.

It seems my sister has been taken.
