I wish I was better at downtime. It's been so quiet for us lately and I'm trying to enjoy it and embrace it but I worry things are waiting just around the corner. I don't know if it's actually true or if it's just the old paranoia settling back in.

I'm just putting it out there into the universe because I'm feeling kind of sad lonely: would anybody be interested in a big group thing for Thanksgiving? I have plenty of room at the bar and am willing to host.

Normally when I end up somewhere I've never been before, there's an abundance of alcohol involved. At the very least, there's far more nudity.

I've already been given the executive overview by Miss Lopez. She tells me I might have friends acquaintances here?

The holidays were never really a thing for us back home. I used to try to do something for Sammy when we were kids and occasionally we'd stop for a pie on Thanksgiving but that was it. Plus there was the time that we were almost sacrificed by the most annoying demi-gods.

It might be nice to try and do it like normal people. Cook a turkey, get a tree. I don't know. I was drinking egg nog. I might be a little sloshed.

It's really quiet in the bunker without Jody and the girls. No one has insulted my shoes or my cooking in days.

It's almost making me excited for Halloween. Which is something that I never thought I'd say. Though I've never hated it as much as Sam does.

I'm probably showing my age when I say this, but: I understand FaceBook, I understand Twitter, I understand (but have been warned to avoid) Reddit. What I don't understand are memes. What's an "ok, boomer"? Why is everything "sus"? What ever happened to the cheeseburger-cat?

I don't get it.

The bunker is like a never ending maze. It seems like the Men of Letters never threw anything away. Old books, personal effects, cars. I really like looking around. Honestly, if I wasn't careful, I'd never leave. This isn't the point of the post though. I found an old camera and I've been teaching myself to use it.

I'm pretty sure that's not what they intended it for but whatever, they're all gone now. I'd like to branch off and try my hand at taking more pictures of people though. I was wondering if anyone would be willing to volunteer to let me take pictures of them?

Maybe it's just because the last few years have been kind of crazy, but I feel like I'm going to lose my mind from boredom here. Anyone else feeling it?

We're just about to when everyone starts decorating for Halloween, so a public service announcement:

Do not go to the creepy occult bookstore for inspiration, don't buy a dusty old book written primarily in Latin, and definitely do not draw any of the symbols if you ignore my advice and do the first two. Especially don't draw any of the symbols in blood -- human or otherwise.

I've been spending a really long time in the bunker. Making sure I didn't hurt anyone else The bonus is that I've been getting to cataloguing some of the rooms and things that we never got a chance to before. There is so much stuff in this place. I'm wondering if we're going to need to have a yardsale.

So, I have a significant amount of magical ingredients and artifacts. I worry that some of it is at risk of going bad. Is that possible? I have no magical abilities and only know how to do a little bit so it's not getting much use.

You don't have to answer this. I'm sure I am not your favorite person right now. When you're ready, come to the bunker and I will try to explain things more.

The view from up here is quite splendid today! This is the kind of magical mischief I don't mind.

I am really writing with a serious request, however. This should have been my last year at school, and while I do think that finishing my education properly is the right thing to do, there is no appropriate establishment here in which I might do so. I would instead like to engage one or more private tutors, in the following subjects:

Magical Theory
Latin
Arithmancy
Astronomy

Potions
Charms
Transfiguration
Magical Duelling

For each subject you took up, we would meet for an hour or two once a week, and you would if you wished set me preparatory work to complete between those meetings.

My stipulations are that you do not have a dislike of young people, and that you will not ask or expect me to use any muggle machines or inventions as a part of my studies. I shall promise to be a responsible and diligent senior student and not to indulge in magical pranks or anything of that sort. And of course you would be suitably recompensed for your time and effort.
