Welcome to Night Vale

You know there was a time when my friends and I had to be careful during the full moon. It always caused us to behave oddly, and let's just say that I'm very glad I don't have to worry about that anymore. I couldn't say what changed, but after a while, it was like we were immune to it.

So in the spirit of not covering my windows for the night, I'm going to check out the harvest festival this evening!

Is anyone going to karaoke tomorrow that might want to do a duet? I'm looking forward to just letting go. No, that is not a pun to hint I will be singing that.

Inspired by the pen I want but can't afford (no, I'm not linking it because someone will buy it and then I'll feel weird about expensive gifts) - if you suddenly found yourself with an unlimited bank account, what's the most ridiculous thing you'd buy?

I've been thinking about taking a class or two at NVCC. Is anyone else enrolled? And if so, is it really as weird as it looks?

I saw the guy with the hockey mask when I was throwing out the garbage last night. I shot him, but it didn't seem to bother him, so I would be careful. I really thought this place would be safer, but I guess there's no escaping the weird.

I'm going to miss the beach and the ocean. It was the first time I could really swim in private since I've gotten here.

Which is kinda my fault, I wasn't sure how open I could be here. I couldn't back home, too many close calls with people want to use or experiment on you. I became a little braver after observing this place for a while.

So I guess this is my official I'm a mermaid statement?

Trying to find enough bands to have a battle of the bands is proving harder than I expected. I knew the weirdness of this place made it a little offbeat but I figured there would be at least a couple of people with bands.

It was so much easier back home.

I think we should throw a party on the beach before it disappears again. I can't cook, or should cook, but one of us has to be decent enough to work a bbq grill? It could be fun. Music. Maybe a bonfire?

I think I have managed to catch a cold. I shouldn't be surprised. I always manage to catch one this time of year. This is all to say that I won't be in the labs tomorrow. I'm taking a husband enforced day off

Before I'm banished away from the computer, I do need to post a job opening. I need an assistant at the Labs. It's mostly for doing clerical work and helping making sure everyone gets what they require. My former one was wonderful but she has disappeared. I'm assuming that she's returned home.

There should be a list of things you should know or have experienced at a certain age. So far, I have been to the mall. I've been to the beach and I've seen part of a horror movie. I've never been to school, officially, but that might be changing in the fall.

Anyone have suggestions on what I should learn?

I'm not even sure if the rumors are right and there are a lot of people here with powers but here goes. I'm Eleven but most people call me El. I have these abilities and most of them I have a pretty decent control over. I'm having a lot of trouble with my telekinesis. I was wondering if there anyone who might be able to help.

An ocean in the middle of a desert is one of the weirdest fucking things I've ever seen, and it sure as shit ain't Ibiza, but I'll take it. Thanks, whoever decided that was a good idea.

I'll admit, I didn't know what to think of this place when I first arrived, but it's growing on me.

If nothing else, there seems to be an appreciation of music.

I'm still figuring out the whole technology thing, but Spotify is great. And so are emojis. 😄

I've been working on some new compositions, though they're not quite done yet. But I should have something ready before the next open mic night.

My husband and I have a musical group, 'Nadja & Laszlo the Human Music Group', with such good music it was almost all stolen and turned into hits by other people without our knowledge. But he is not here so I am looking for someone to play the piano, the accordion, the acoustic guitar, anything of the sort. I can teach you the songs.

I want to participate in the open microphone night. It went rather well last time we did it.

Oh wow...okay he's really cute and all but this is WAY too much responsibility.

For anyone whose egg hatched into this it's called a Mogwai and it's VERY VERY important that you follow these three rules!

1. Don't get them wet.
2. Don't expose them to bright light.
3. Don't feed them after midnight.

So... this is the afterlife, huh? I was expecting something a little less desert-y.

If anyone needs a job, we've got an opening at the record store since Heather disappeared. It's not a bad job. It's just...It's a weird little store. She lets us play our guitars sometimes so it's not so bad.

I wish there was a music festival or a battle of the bands or something fun we could play at. I don't even know if there are other bands in this weird little town.
