Welcome to Night Vale

So we're going to mix things up for Fight Club this month. In honor of February, all matches are going to be doubles matches. So you're going to need a partner. If you don't have one, feel free to ask around. If worse comes to worse, we can assign people a partner day of, but it'll probably be better if you've had some time to train together.

We'll be having the fights on February 26.

We need to get you sparring so that you can start taking part in these. You just need to be trained up a little and then I know you could kick ass with no trouble.

Right. Well. Given it looks like I'm the last one left again the Jedi Temple will be open to the public. If you want to come meditate, or have group meditation, it can be arranged.

Lessons will also be had in: meditation (both moving meditation and regular), melee and hand to hand (beginner to advanced), force techniques (some can be adapted), and last but not least lightsaber training. Going to spoil some fun but; this is only available if you take a few classes of the advanced melee class. Not doubting anyone's capabilities with a sword, but 'sabers are vastly different. Don't need more people in the cool hand club, and you'll need to adjust to the difference.

If people want to join me in running, I go every (early) morning.

As a journalist, they tell you to always expect the unexpected. You never know where your next story might come from. This, I can honestly say, is not something I don't think anyone can ever be prepared for. But, it does seem like there's a juicy story beneath it all, just waiting to be told. Citizens of Night Vale, I look forward to getting to know you all better.

Everytime I think I've gotten a handle on the single mom thing, something comes up. Like the fact that I cannot, for the life of me, put together some furniture for Mia's nursery. I will feed (and be feed I mean order pizza) anyone willing to save me from this nightmare. I don't think my thumbnail will survive another mishap with a hammer.

You've got to be kidding me? If I was just kidnapped by a beam of light for another crossover, I'm going to be super pissed because I said no more.

Couldn't even let me partake in the afterparty with my team, huh? They better not be getting into any trouble without me. What year did I end up in this time?

I think this town is overdue for a good old fashioned backyard barbecue.

Gonna get the Webers going out back of the station and some Grade A quality NV beef this weekend. Come on by and if you're feelin' generous, pitch a loonie in a bucket to go toward repairs and equipment for us EMS folk - but in no way is it mandatory.

Ribs, steaks, burgers (not of the bison variety, unfortunately) chicken, and of course.. hot dogs for the kiddos. Maybe some games although that's not exactly my forte. Fireworks, weather-permitting.

All are welcome but ya gotta bring somethin' to contribute to the outdoor cookery. Plates, utensils, side dishes, desserts, alcohol.. Get creative but don't show up empty-handed.

Now that that's over.. I need some work done on this lovely gem.

Some moderately complex carpentry work, a lot of painting, and general clean up. Nothing too extensive, I want to have it all finished by the end of the month.

And I suppose I should poll how often you want films to be shown? In between shows, of course.

Okay, I'm bored, traumatised and sore. My boyfriend is fetching ice cream and there's fuck all I want to watch, so I'm sitting here trying not to think about the plants trying to attack again.

So, Night Vale, it's time for some pre-college intrigue. Fuck, Marry, Kill. You say you're in, I'll give you three Night Vale transplants, you pick whom to fuck, marry or kill.

Since it was such a success this month, for June, Fight Club will be hosting another tournament, this time sponsoring the Night Vale Animal Shelter. Although the main event will be happening later in the month, date TBD, I'm taking sign-ups starting now.

Additionally, next Saturday, we will be taking over the NVCC's gym for our first theme night: anyone interested in learning or practicing with bladed (or blade-like) weapons, come on out.

I just want to thank everyone who came out last night, participants and spectators alike. We had a pretty awesome crowd, so again, thank you for showing up.

What are everyone's thoughts about making this a monthly charity fundraiser? Prizes, still, but I feel like we could raise a good bit of money for good causes.

I am so god damn sore. I don't know how I managed to pull that off. This right up there with the time I killed Hitler. Not bad for an old man.

I'd say I took a wrong turn somewhere, but this is definitely not Hawaii. So much for my day off with Eddie.

Given the success of the last 'Fight Club', we've decided to make it a monthly event moving forward. This month, we thought it would be fun to host a small tournament on May 7th, prizes to be determined.
