Well, August was definitely A Month.

I would like to thank everyone who pitched in to help during whatever that whole thing was (did we figure out a cause, or are we filing it under General Night Vale Weirdness?); however dispirate our origins, we're all stuck in the same boat.

The Night Vale Clinic remains open; please don't hesitate to seek our help if you need it, even if all you're really after is a cup of tea and a sympathetic ear. Alternatively, Chauncy the Very Small Bear is an excellent and incredibly soft listener (although not a great conversationalist) and can usually be found at The Black Emporium. I think I remember seeing we've a couple of Actual Therapists in our ranks so if that's you please consider this an open platform to advertise from.

I saw my papa today. The one who made me and brought the monsters to Hawkins. I think he didn't see me but I saw him.

I seem to have acquired a constant shadow. It keeps finding its way back to me. Who fucking abandoned their tiny demon? I am unamused. And you cannot have it back.

I'm going to see if this mysterious, and probably terribly cursed, fair will let me sell some of the Emporium's wares. Or just get a little sign for Chauncy to carry around that says 'shop at the Black Emporium'.

So we missed Summerday, but if I counted right we'll have All Soul's Day next month. I plan to do something, for Mother, Father, and Carver's sake, so I was wondering if anyone else wanted to join.

And to ask if anyone knows a sculptor. I might find it hilarious to use our Andraste from the shop, but Mother will scowl at me from the great Beyond, so I'm not risking that.

Other questions:

Do we want to do a fire? It's custom, but the heat is reminiscent of the Western Approach. I dislike all of it, as I'm not meant for it.
Do we want to invite others to say something or light a candle for whomever they've lost? This is our holiday, so we can do this ourselves, but community bonding, right?

Atisha and Neria, do you guys do anything for Falon'Din? And if so, do you want to add that?

I'll admit, I didn't know what to think of this place when I first arrived, but it's growing on me.

If nothing else, there seems to be an appreciation of music.

I'm still figuring out the whole technology thing, but Spotify is great. And so are emojis. 😄

I've been working on some new compositions, though they're not quite done yet. But I should have something ready before the next open mic night.

Contemplating reopening Lux, purely for something to do at this point. You all seem very much able to stop yourselves from murdering each other, it's rather refreshing, if a little dull.

Although without my favourite backstabbing demon bartender to kick the place in order it's a tedious amount of work. Which makes me not want to do it.

I seem to have acquired a wardrobe that I had to fight the urge to burn. Fucking poofy fucking frills.

It has instead been disposed of outside of my window. Do feel free to claim the offensive articles as your own.

At least the fucking birds are not flying around me anymore. Fucking devil birds and their fucking chirping.

Somebody explain the appeal of this 'April Fool's Day'.

The Emporium seems to be doing well, which has me thinking of new projects.

Namely something in the spirit of arcane collaboration and the sharing of knowledge. There seem to be quite a few magically gifted individuals here, from a variety of schools of thought and arcane backgrounds and it seems a shame not to use this opportunity to explore how we might learn from one another and expand our own understanding of the arcane.

I'm more than happy to discuss my own work and projects and I would hope that other people are as well.
