Sitting late at work with the newborn lion cam up on the monitor and getting ready to watch a livestream of scientists dissecting a colossal squid on my tablet while going through the start of my correspondence school work. I think this is definitely the way to do it. Technology got
awesome in the last twelve years.
(says the girl who got enhanced with futuristic alien technology, ironically)
Squid facts:
Squids and octopi separated at about the same time as birds and reptiles.
Colossal squids are only 2-3mm when born but get bigger than 5m as adults.
You can tell their age by rings in some of the hard parts, just like trees, but no one's exactly sure how often the rings form.
Squid brains are shaped like donuts and the esophagus (food pipe) is a bit wider than your thumb and goes straight through the middle hole of the brain. They use their beaks to make food small enough to fit through.
Oh hey, who wants to see a
squid beak?
