I am Groot.

Spending the day in the garden always makes me feel like I should have some kind of furry animal to lie nearby and nap while I'm working. But I got everything weeded and the first winter crops planted and now I get to lounge around watching movies. Thrilling Friday night, I know, but it's nice to just not be working for a few days before school reopens.

No more zombies!

When do all the stores reopen so I can celebrate with a shopping spree?

Or just celebrate.

Because I feel like doing something fun and stupid and reckless before something else goes batshit around here.

[info]wasatree

Don't get me wrong, I'm really glad the zombie outbreak is over. But I hate thinking about all the people who had to die because of it. The portal is the WORST.

Wait......I died! I swear it, I had the fever and felt cold. And now I'm not? Okay well, this is probably a second chance......or it's this place again. Either way, I'm alive!

Now where can I find a one Sam Evans.....I have some things to tell him.

Did you find your friend yet?

people at the teardrop
Are there any supply runs that need to be done?

Flies that need to be mopped?

Something to keep me from slowly losing my mind?

Those food drops aren't exactly full of fresh produce, are they? I feel like going home and just sitting in the yard shoving tomatoes and beans in my face. What I might actually do is find a map of community gardens. First priority is veg*ns and anyone who wants to hold off the zombie hordes while I raid them since I'm pretty sure I'm not immune to being torn apart.

I feel like I've seen so many people die that none of it means anything anymore.

Holy shit there's people here. Are you all carriers?

Can anyone tell me where the nearest hardware store is? I need to pick up some explosive material tools.

I'll be at The Teardrop. I have basic medical knowledge and some special supplies from the future if someone has an injury. I don't blame anyone for not wanting to head for the hospital. No offense, Doctor Parry. I've been there, and it isn't safe. I can help anyone here who may require medical attention.

[Private to Adam]
Did you make it home okay?

This is what we know about the virus so far:

- Symptoms include: fever, pallid skin-tone, unpredictable, violent behaviour and necrotic tissue.
- We have yet to identify the virus's true origins, therefore, it has gone unnamed. Suffice to say, it a virus that has never been seen nor treated before in recorded history.
- Transmission: The original strain of the virus unknowingly began to spread from person to person. Evidence points toward it being an airborne pathogen, though it can also be transmitted by the bite or the scratch of a person who has already been infected.
- At the moment, there is no treatment that will slow it down and no cure that will stop it. The disease is fatal 100% of the time.
- Those who have died from the disease have gone missing.

- The second phase of the disease is perhaps the most disturbing. Those presumed dead roam the streets viciously attacking the unaffected population.

Our course of action is as follows:

- Those affected by the disease must report to the hospital for immediate containment.
- Those unaffected are to remain in their homes or in a safehouse until further notice. As mentioned above, there is still no true understanding as to how the virus originally spread. Therefore, it is unwise to tempt fate by leaving your homes and unnecessarily exposing yourselves to the virus.
- Furthermore, if you have been injured in a related accident but not one where you may be affected by the virus, there is still a section of the hospital tending to those patients. Seek medical attention if the injury is severe.

I will take any questions you may have now.

I'm at the Teardrop and I have a vege garden on SW Edgecliff that should have a whole bunch more stuff ready to pick since last time I was there. Is there anyone in the area who knows how to tell what's ripe and can bring it here OR does someone want to drive me over to do it? Or fly me over or, you know, whatever the people with actual useful abilities do.

Do we know how the infrastructure's holding up? I'm mostly thinking of water and sewerage but electricity's a big one too. More hand sanitiser probably wouldn't go amiss for supplies.

If you are unable to fight please stay in your homes. If you need help, if you need supplies, let us know. Everyone should be boarding up their doors and windows. If you don't have a safe house please go to The Teardrop. They have a shelter set up there to help. If you need help getting there let us know.

Remember we don't know if these people can be cured or not. Killing them at random is not necessarily a good idea but do what you have to in order to survive,

An update from the medical community would be great.

Private to Beacon Hills minus Kate

We need a fortified shelter. I think we should all be staying together right now.

Private to Kate

I hope you're being smart.

So, with both Rebekah and Santana MIA I've decided to close off The Teardrop to its regular business and convert it into a makeshift shelter until further notice. Basically, it'll be a hub for anyone who needs help, food or just a safe place to hide out from the craziness that's going on outside. I'm gonna need some volunteers to help me keep this place stocked as well as safe. That includes anyone with medical expertise. I'm not sure how impervious I am to the virus. Roy and Matt, you're not obligated to stay, but any help you could provide will be much appreciated.

And if anyone could get a hold of Rebekah for me, that would be great too.

Private to Rebekah
I just want to know that you're safe, sis.

Oh god, this is so bad. Guys no one's surviving this

I don't want to die

Whatever else the virus is definitely spread through contact with infected bodily fluids so be careful if you have any open wounds or if someone bites you or something go to hospital even if you don't feel sick yet even though we can't do anything for you, the incubation period before symptoms show is only a few hours sometimes and you don't want to spread it to anyone else. The best thing is just to keep it contained. And

I wish Axl was here.

High school students, or, well, anyone really: if you don't feel 100%, just stay home. You have my official permission as a medical professional. I guarantee you're not going to miss learning the meaning of life or anything and you can lounge around in bed all day. Win win!

I don't know what's going on here, but I was almost seriously injured today at rehearsal for the musical. People getting into arguments and throwing things around. This is just too crazy!! I've never seen anything like this before.

Does anyone really like green beans or cucumber? Or leafy greens or herbs for that matter. My garden's over-producing a little and I don't really want salad for every meal. The vervain's starting to flower but the wolfsbane looks like it will be a little longer if it comes out this season at all #earthgoddessproblems

My eggplant painting was sitting on the table this morning. My (adopted) dad painted it for me because purple was my favourite colour for a while and I always had to make sure to hang it up before he visited after I moved out. It's seriously ugly, but sort of balanced out by the appearance of my name necklace.
