The Last Station

In the interest of reassuring any tenants who may be concerned about their residence at 22 High Street, please rest assured that the building was purchased and licensed to me through the proper processes, with my own personal funds. In addition, if you've questions about my business, I'd be happy to meet you to discuss. Perhaps at the DMLE"s offices, so you know that I've nothing to hide?

On a lighter note, as a follow-up to the note that my tenants received a week ago, we will be doing construction on the front courtyard the weekend of April 25-27. If you are a resident of 22 High Street or plan to have guests visiting your flat, please plan for direct Apparition into and out of your flat during this time period.

I've just signed the papers to finalise the purchasing of an apartment building in Wizarding Inverness, so there's one thing I can cross off my list of goals for 2006.

Oh! And when I was in that part of town I couldn't help but notice that two enterprising wizards are looking to do a Magical version of Muggle 'laser tag' and are opening a gaming center in the next month or so. There were two Muggle locations in Brighton for 'laser tag' but of course I've never tried it because I never had any friends because we didn't much venture into the Muggle part of town while I lived there. However, the Magical version does looks interesting. The posters they had indicated that you use toy wands that shoot out harmless light beams to mark your opponents.

After the winter we've had, the weather is downright lovely out. Cloudy still, but we do live in the United Kingdom. Crossing my fingers that we've made it through.

I'm thinking about building out a small sitting area in front of 22 High Street. Finbar, what do you think? Perhaps we can carve out time early next week to meet with the owner of 25 High Street and discuss some possibilities.

I'd forgotten how trying winters in Scotland can be. It's hard to keep one's mood up when the days are so short. Perhaps I need to pick up a winter hobby instead of waiting away for spring to come. I hear I should avoid charming snow bears, but a less-mobile snowman might just do the trick. On the other hand, what I might be missing is just being near the ocean, even in this weather.

We'll be doing some minor renovations to the building starting on the 15th, as you may have noticed that the building's a bit draftier than I'd like. Since it's fairly new, it shouldn't take too long to make sure all the doors and windows, in particular, are properly sealed and charmed. The workers should be in from around 1-4pm until the work finishes (which will likely be on the 17th I hope). Please let me know if you have any conflicts with this time or will need to be in your flat during that period.

Goodness, I've forgotten how dreary the weather can be here. It almost makes me miss living in London or Brighton.

What is there to do for fun around here that doesn't involve copious amounts of warming charms, and layers, besides holing up in a pub and nursing a few pints?
