I just received word from Kingsley Shacklebolt that he needs me in London all next week for some conference or special project he's working on. He was rather vague on the details, but I don't think I can refuse the Minister of Magic when he asks for something.

Do you feel comfortable holding down the fort here in Hogsmeade while I'm away? I know you're still completing your training, but I have faith you'll do great. I should only be gone a week. And of course if you need anything I'm only an owl away.

I was working the night shift last night and just woke up to see this mess in the journals. I'm piecing together what happened, someone already reported it to the DMLE and we're looking into it in case it was malicious. Are you okay? Is there anything I can do? Lavender Brown's body will stretch out my robes and underwear irreparably, but I offer them to you in any case. Your need is greater than mine and I can always buy more.

Just let me know if you need anything other than for me to find and punish whoever did this. Rest assured, I'm already working on that.

Nine o'clock was early for Lucian, but he knew he was friends with people who would be dozing off around the 10pm mark, so he gave in and allotted them an hour to participate. Any earlier, however, and he would need to include proper food and turn the affair into a dinner party, which he was not interested in.

Noctis was a wizarding establishment located in the heart of London, an abandoned-looking, boarded up shack in the middle of bright neon lights and the loud music of Muggle nightclubs, that caters only to wizarding clientele, run by an old family friend of the Boles. Half the club was allocated for Lucian's party, the dance floor full of scantily clad women and a handful of equally good-looking men. There were appetizers and small snacks, of course, but Lucian had made sure the bar was open for everyone.

That was the sign Julian had put up on the door to his office that morning. He thought, roughly, that it would be how long he might take to weed out the infestation of gnomes in the building's backyard. It wasn't necessarily up to him to do it, mind, but he was a civic servant, and Merlin only knows how long before a solution gets approved if he'd gone through the proper channels. It was easier this way, even though it would eat up all of his day. He'd need a break anyway.

Dragon Barrel Brewery, well-weathered when Merrill's grandfather was younger than he was now, wore its age well. Its private room was modern, with original details that paid homage to its successful past. And as was appropriate at any gathering between friends, the liquor flowed freely, the open bar Merrill's last-minute nod to hospitality. The meal was sorted, as well, and the atmosphere casual, jovial.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but you, or someone working with you, have made a mistake with my most recent sleeping draught. I took it half an hour ago and I'm almost certain it was Pepper-Up. I wasn't going to complain, I understand that mistakes do happen, but as well as not helping me to sleep I think the potion is actually keeping me awake. It's also raised my temperature, though that's hardly relevant.

I'm on duty all day tomorrow, so I won't be able to stop into Eye of Newt myself but I hope it won't be too much trouble, all things considered, to send me a replacement potion by owl.
