Merrill hadn't had the easiest of weeks, and Roger was worried sick. He was covering it up with a brave face, but he knew Merrill knew too. That evening, he had made a special trip to Inverness, young Violet in tow, to pick up Merrill's favorite flavor of ice cream while the roast baked in the oven and Merrill looked after it. Father and daughter returned just in time to meet an unfamiliar owl as it came in and deposited a thick, formal-looking envelope in Roger's hand.
"Looks like we've got mail," Roger said, juggling between Violet, the ice cream, and the envelope. "Mer, is the roast done yet?"

Though during the winter months the Great Lake Picnic had been put on hold, but now that the weather has become warmer, the first of the picnics for the year 2006 was well under way. As with previous picnics, the Town Council sponsored the provision of some food, invited a few Hogsmeade vendors over, and allowed residents to come bring their own food. There was music in the background and a campfire in the middle of the field. There are no organised activities, the picnic a purely social community activity.

Noctis was a wizarding establishment located in the heart of London, an abandoned-looking, boarded up shack in the middle of bright neon lights and the loud music of Muggle nightclubs, that caters only to wizarding clientele, run by an old family friend of the Boles. Half the club was allocated for Lucian's party, the dance floor full of scantily clad women and a handful of equally good-looking men. There were appetizers and small snacks, of course, but Lucian had made sure the bar was open for everyone.

It would also be a test for the sous-Chef. If Hannah were to hand over the reigns next weekend and go enjoy James' birthday party, she figured a test run couldn't hurt. She oversaw all the prep work and side tasks before open, though when the time came for service to start, she placed herself at the hostess counter rather than in the kitchen. Fingers crossed that tonight will go well, she thought to herself, as the door opened and the first guests of the day walked in.

Amoreuses was a fine dining establishment about to open its doors in Diagon Alley. To test the market they had sent out invitations to Diagon Alley residents as well as other known wizarding locations, Hogsmeade included, for a soft opening on Thursday night. A sampling menu was given out, including some specially charmed meals that were specific for couples in attendance.
One of these was a Chocolate Lover's Dessert, which was intended to intensify amorous emotions with one's partner. Unfortunately a disgruntled former partner of Amoreuses had snuck in the kitchen and sabotaged two of the desserts going out, so that two unsuspecting halves of a pair would find themselves enchanted with one another instead...

The uniforms had indeed come in earlier that day, and Zacharias had dropped by not long after to see them. Satisfied, he'd thanked Roger for the quick work and asked if he would be up for adding numbers on for those who wanted to personalize each jersey with a number of his choosing. It was a simple enough spell, and each uniform's lettering was the same throughout, so Roger agreed.
The uniforms had been separated into four piles, one per team. Zacharias had already picked up his, and if Cormac wanted to personalize his, he could do it himself. Roger sat back, waiting for the first of the pick-up players to drop by.

Roger had been so surprised when Merrill had asked if he was free for dinner outside- Merrill hadn't had an appetite in a while, and even though they'd spent a few days in the ski resort just last weekend, he felt as though Merrill was still easily exhausted- that he said yes without asking for more details. It wasn't until Merrill mentioned his match-making service skills that he realized what was going on, or who they were going with. He shared a house with Dan and Stewart, and he remembered having shagged Dan at one point- there were few men in the village he hadn't- but beyond that, he couldn't say he was very familiar with either. All he knew was that Merrill had set them both up and they were only too happy to buy Merrill and Roger dinner.
Roger was more than happy to oblige.

Roger had been so surprised when Merrill had asked if he was free for dinner outside- Merrill hadn't had an appetite in a while, and even though they'd spent a few days in the ski resort just last weekend, he felt as though Merrill was still easily exhausted- that he said yes without asking for more details. It wasn't until Merrill mentioned his match-making service skills that he realized what was going on, or who they were going with. He shared a house with Dan and Stewart, and he remembered having shagged Dan at one point- there were few men in the village he hadn't- but beyond that, he couldn't say he was very familiar with either. All he knew was that Merrill had set them both up and they were only too happy to buy Merrill and Roger dinner.
Roger was more than happy to oblige.

Aside from Merrill's cold and the somewhat bumpy start that gave their weekend, the trip to the Tschuggen Spa could not have gone better. It was the most relaxed Roger had felt in a while, certainly the most pampered. There wasn't an amenity that Roger or Merrill hadn't taken advantage of, an activity they didn't pass. Violet had debuted her skiing career on the bunny slopes along with her Da, and even made a friend at the daycare where Roger and Merrill would drop her off when they wanted to hit the saunas, or the spa.
Tonight the two of them had decided to leave Violet a little longer with her friend while they had a private dinner with a breathtaking view of the mountain, Roger sitting closer to Merrill and wishing the weekend never had to end.
